Jerusalem Old City dig uncovers 2,700 years of history, with layers from the time of the First Temple through the Roman, Crusader and Ottoman periods.

In one 49 meters by 9 meters (160 feet by 30 feet) space, Amit Re’em unearthed an archaeological timeline of Jerusalem dating back 2,700 years. Layers from nearly every era of the city’s history lay on top of each other, from the time of the First Temple through the Roman, Crusader and Ottoman periods, and up to Israel’s independence in 1948.

Re’em also believes the room may have been the site of Jesus’ trial by Pontius Pilate. Pilate would have tried Jesus in a prominent location like Herod’s palace, Re’em said, noting that the original route of the Via Dolorosa that Jesus followed to his crucifixion passed the spot where the Kishle now stands.

• "To understand the severity of the situation is, let us recall that in the 1950s about 86% of the population of the Bethlehem area was Christian. Today, we are only 12%. We recorded this interview in May through the assistance of Pastor Roger and Diane Cochran of Calvary Chapel in Long Beach, California. Pastor Roger was awaiting surgery to replace his heart-valve- and boasted pride that it was developed in Israel. Shortly after we recorded his testimony of support for Israel, he collapsed with ventricular fibrilation. We called an ambulance whose technicians saved his life, got him an expedited valve replacement, which enabled him to live an additional one-third year. We dedicate this story to the memory of Zionistic Christian Pastor Roger Cochran. May his memory be an inspiration for all.

U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann and four other House colleagues are making things uncomfortable for an Obama administration that has a decided tolerance for Islamists. In doing so, Bachmann and company have raised two important questions.

First, they want to know how Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s top aide, deputy chief of staff Huma Abedin, got security clearance, despite having relatives with ties to the Muslim Brotherhood.

Second, they would like an investigation conducted regarding the “potential Muslim Brotherhood infiltration” of the Obama administration. For their efforts, they were challenged by Muslim Congressman Keith Ellison (D-MN). Ms. Bachmann’s response, detailing her concerns and those of her colleagues, reveals the extent to which this administration has been tainted–or quite possibly corrupted–by Islamist influences.  (. . .)

Bachmann also reveals that “despite statements backed up by considerable evidence in court raising concerns about many of the Muslim Brotherhood front groups,” various departments in the Obama administration continue to engage in “outreach” programs with these same organizations “as if the evidence…doesn’t exist.” 

Lastly, she reveals that, despite the FBI officially cutting ties with CAIR after the Holy Land trial, “the White House Director for Community Partnerships admitted that this administration has had ‘hundreds’ of meeting with CAIR” and that the White House “has worked to conceal these ties (in one case, with ISNA and MPAC).”

The headline read, “Glenn Beck’s Messianic Show.” In general, the Israeli media responded to Beck’s visit to Israel either as a non-event, or they distorted who Beck is and what he is trying to do. Thursday’s print edition of Ma’ariv sufficed with a photograph from Beck’s rally in Jerusalem the previous day. By casting Beck’s visit as insignificant, Ma’ariv disserved its readers. Beck is one of the most influential media personalities in the US today. . . .



Unlike the leftist public intellectuals such as New York Times columnist Tom Friedman who are celebrated and obsessively covered by the Israeli media, Beck exerts real influence on public opinion in the US. His calls for action are answered by hundreds of thousands of people. His statements are a guidepost for millions of Americans. Aside from radio host Rush Limbaugh, no media personality in the US has such influence. It is highly significant that thousands of Beck’s supporters followed his call and came with him to Israel for a week to express their support for Israel and the Jewish people. It is similarly significant that millions more of his supporters followed his actions on Internet. Those media that did not seek to downplay the importance of Beck’s visit opted instead to distort who he is and what he is doing. As the Yediot headline indicated, the media portrayed him as an unstable messianic, or they castigated him as an extremist and marginal force in the US. Haaretz and Globes both ran articles attacking Beck as an anti-Semite. These claims are outrageous and represent yet another gross disservice to Israeli news consumers who do not have an independent means of judging Beck, his message and his actions for themselves. . . .

More than 5,000 Attend CUFI’s Sixth Annual Washington Summit
America’s largest pro-Israel organization approaches three-quarters of a million members

Christians United for Israel (CUFI), the nation’s largest pro-Israel organization, held its sixth annual Washington Summit last week. With over 5,000 individuals in attendance, the three day event was the group’s largest in its six year history. The Summit included a series of educational sessions, speeches from prominent pro-Israel national and international figures, and a live satellite address from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

 

The Summit’s Night to Honor Israel featured remarks from Israeli Ambassador Michael Oren, CUFI Founder and chairman Pastor John Hagee and a keynote address from national radio and television personality Glenn Beck.

 

Beck gave an impassioned and stirring speech expressing steadfast support for Israel. “Each of us will be judged as a people and a nation by how we treat Israel,” he said.

 

And to the world’s anti-Semites Beck’s message was unequivocal, “If a despised regime has the right to kill Jews and frighten those who stand with them, I declare, count me a Jew and come for me first!  When we all stand together, when we all raise our hands, we change the world. They cannot kill all of us. Let us declare: I am a Jew.”

 

Following two days of pro-Israel education and advocacy-training, CUFI delegates went to Capitol Hill and held hundreds of meetings with their elected representatives in Washington, including with the Congressional leadership offices on both sides of the aisle in both houses.  The CUFI delegates asked their elected officials to oppose the unilateral declaration of a Palestinian state at the United Nations, and to support security aid to Israel and tougher sanctions against Iran. 

 

“It is imperative that the Christian community let their representatives in Washington know that our support for Israel is unwavering. Both Democrats and Republicans must be aware that we are absolutely committed to keeping the U.S.-Israel relationship strong, and ensuring that Israel has the resources, diplomatic support and borders necessary for its defense,” Hagee said.

 

During the conference the group also announced that it now has more than 725,000 members. In his remarks, Beck announced that he too would be joining the Christian Zionist group.

 

“Our growth has been exceptional and it continues unabated,” said David Brog, CUFI’s executive director. “The halls of the Congressional office buildings were crowded with CUFI activists waiting to meet with their elected leaders. I am extremely pleased both with the reception we received and the impact we are clearly having on the U.S. – Israel relationship.”

National Coordinator, Donna Stern, likened Terry Jones to the KKK and his group "Stand Up for America" to Germany's National Socialists. Her mainly-black group participated with the Muslims in hurling racial epithets against Rabbi Nachum Shifren and Christian, Pastor Jones.



Eric Jones, a Zionistic Christian who publishes the website Bonhoeffer's Dream, came out in support of Stand Up for America.  He decried the anti-Judeo-Christian enmity he feels from Dearborn and carried signs "Be a Bonhoeffer"- referring to Dietrich Bonhoeffer, a German Lutheran Pastor who stood-up against anti-Semitism in the Lutheran movement, and participated in the Resistance Movement against the Nazi Party.

Pastor Jones attempted to walk from City Hall to the Arab-American Fair being held a few blocks away, but the Dearborn Police did not provide him ample protection and hecklers impeded his movement. He would have been lynched if he had not been extricated at the last minute.

Black conservative activist, Phil Stargell, expressed disgust by the lack of police protection afforded Pastor Jones.  He alleged that the Dearborn Police were politically biased in favor of the Muslim mob against Jones' rally - and called upon Attorney General Eric Holder to investigate Muslim anti-Christian influence in the Dearborn Police.

Founder of ACT for America and American Congress for Truth, Brigitte Gabriel, appeared last night at Sinai Temple in Los Angeles.  The L.A. office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-LA) launched a defamation campaign to discredit Ms. Gabriel in an attempt to influence Sinai Temple to pre-empt her appearance.  ACT for America has several regional, grassroots groups in Southern California and many members attended.  The audience was vociferously concerned about encroaching Islamist influence throughout the world. The half-Christian, half- Jewish audience was united in their view that Islamic imperialism is a motivating factor behind the threats to Israel's safety, and violence to spread Islamic influence over the West.  Much of CAIR's opposition to Ms. Gabriel was on allegations of Islamophobia.

Prime Minister Netanyahu thanks Christian Zionists' convention in Jerusalem

Netanyahu encourages Christian Zionists to stay the course

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday addressed a Christians United for Israel (CUFI) summit in Jerusalem and encouraged Christian Zionists around the world to stay the course in their defense of the Jewish state.

Netanyahu reiterated the amazing turn of events that the presence of Israel-loving Christians in the Jewish state represents after centuries of Christian persecution of Jewish minorities.

"Your presence here today represents a profound transformation in the relationship between Christians and Jews," said the prime minister. "This transformation has its roots in the 19th century when the early Christian Zionists came to the Land Israel and when they began exploring the land of the Bible, when they began to yearn for the Jewish restoration in this land, the restoration of our numbers, the restoration of our sovereignty."

Netanyahu noted the Christian Zionism actually preceded modern Jewish Zionism, and acted as a stepping stone for the reestablishment of Israeli sovereignty. In the same spirit as those 19th century Christian Zionists, Netanyahu said leaders like CUFI Director John Hagee are continuing to hold Israel aloft in both prayer and advocacy.

"Time after time, through thick and thin, you have stood shoulder to shoulder with our state, and I have come here tonight to thank you for your unwavering friendship," said Netanyahu. "I salute you, the people of Israel salute you, the Jewish people salute you."

The summit was attended by 1,000 Christian delegates and led by Hagee, who took the opportunity to reaffirm his support and the support of tens of millions of American Christians for Israel.

Full Transcript of Speech (Click Read More) Welcome to Jerusalem, the undivided, eternal capital of the Jewish state and the Jewish people.

Your presence here today represents a profound transformation in the relationship between Christians and Jews. This transformation has its roots in the 19th century when the early Christian Zionists came to the Land Israel and when they began exploring the land of the Bible, when they began to yearn for the Jewish restoration in this land, the restoration of our numbers, the restoration of our sovereignty.

In fact, Christian Zionism preceded modern Jewish Zionism, and I think enabled it. But it received a tremendous impetus several decades ago when leading American clergymen, among them most notably, Pastor John Hagee, a dynamic pastor and leader from Texas, began to say to their congregations and to anyone who listened, it’s time to take a stand with Israel. It was time to take a stand with the sole democracy in the Middle East. It was time to take a stand against the lies and the slander and the vilifications. It was time to defend the Jewish state’s right to defend itself.

Today, Christians by the thousands, by the tens of thousands, by the hundreds of thousands, by the millions, by the tens of millions – today they have heard this call, and they stand with Israel. I salute you, the people of Israel salute you, the Jewish people salute you.

Time after time, through thick and thin, you have stood shoulder to shoulder with our state, and I have come here tonight to thank you for your unwavering friendship. And today that friendship is more important than ever because Israel faces unprecedented challenges to its security and its legitimacy.

No security challenge is more important to our common future than preventing Iran from developing nuclear weapons. I have said before and I’ll say again, that the greatest threat facing mankind is the specter of a militant Islamic regime acquiring nuclear weapons, or the specter of nuclear weapons acquiring a militant Islamic regime. The first is dangerously close to happening in Iran, and the second may or may not happen in Pakistan. I believe that with the right policies both can be averted.

If Iran develops atomic weapons, the world would never be the same. We would witness a cascade of terrorism across the globe as terrorists would operate under an Iranian nuclear umbrella. Look at how much havoc, how much terror they sow now, when there is no such umbrella, and understand what can happen if Iran, their patron, sponsor, supplier and supporter, if that Iran had nuclear weapons. Equally, the region’s vital oil supplies could be severely threatened and efforts to prevent the proliferation of nuclear weapons in the Middle East would collapse as one regime after another would rush to acquire nuclear weapons of their own. Worst of all, if nuclear weapons would be given to terrorists, or to terrorist states, a 65 year-old era of nuclear peace would be endangered for the first time.

Remember that for the tyrants in Tehran, Israel is only the little Satan. In their eyes, America is the Great Satan. America is their ultimate target. Yet for Israel, the threat from Iran could not be clearer. Iran’s leaders openly call for Israel’s destruction. They brazenly deny the Holocaust and they hope, and they say so just about every other day, they hope to wipe Israel off the map of the Middle East.

We must not allow such a regime to threaten the peace of the world, the peace and security of all humanity. All responsible members of the international community must do everything in their power to stop Iran from developing atomic weapons.

As we speak the United States is leading an international effort to impose sanctions on Iran. We believe those sanctions must have teeth. And to have teeth, they must bite deep into Iran's energy sector. Simply put, they should prevent Iran from importing gasoline and from exporting oil. I believe that such measures might convince the regime to choose between continuing the weapons program and between assuring the regime’s future. But there must be tough, biting sanctions.

I said that we face great challenges to our security, but we also face unprecedented challenges to our legitimacy. Now this assault on our legitimacy comes in many forms – it comes from the so-called human rights bodies in the UN which would deny Israel its legitimate right of self-defense, it comes by falsely charging Israel’s political and military leaders with imaginary war crimes, and it comes by the outrageous waging campaigns to boycott, divest and sanction Israel. You are all familiar with that.

But I think that there is an even greater assault on our legitimacy. I think it is the attempt to perpetrate one of the greatest lies of history -- to deny the connection between the people of Israel and the land of Israel; to cast the Jewish people as foreigners in the land of our forefathers. Make no mistake about it. The attempt to deny our history in this land is an attempt to deny our future in this land. That is why to defend our past is to defend our future.

I ask you all to join us in this battle to defend the truth. Remind them of Abraham and Isaac, remind them of Joshua and Samuel, remind them of David and Solomon. Remind the world that the land of the Bible is not in the heavens but right here on earth. And that the people of the Bible, are on the land of the Bible.

Let me tell you how I remind foreign officials of this connection of the Jewish people to our history and to this land. You see, they visit my office. And I say, Would you come and look at this little signet ring that I was given on loan from the Department of Antiquities? It was found next to the Wall of the Second Temple, but it dates back to the First Temple. It goes back some 2800 years ago, to the period of the Kings. It is a signet seal of a Jewish official, and it has a name written in ancient Hebrew, which I can read. The name is: Netanyahu. Netanyahu Ben-Yoash. I say, that’s my last name. My first name, Benjamin, dates back 1000 years earlier, to Benjamin the son of Jacob, who also walked these hills. That is our connection. And nobody can deny the connection of the Jewish people to the Jewish land.

Israel faces great challenges. We must prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons. We must repel the assault on our legitimacy. We must find a way to achieve peace with our neighbors. We must all pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

After centuries in exile, I have come here to assure you, the people of Israel have come home and no force on earth will ever make us leave our home again.

Int'l experts on Mid-East explain why "two-state" will be no solution for Judeo-Christian sanctuary in Israel

In "Why a two-state solution?" editorial in The Jerusalem Post, lawyer and author Dr. Tilman Tarach, argues from Germany:

In reality, the only viable option, which not even the Palestinians can raise reasonable objections against, is the following: The West Bank (or large parts of it) is united with Jordan, and Gaza with Egypt. (When, in February 2008, the Palestinians overran the Egyptian border fortifications into Sinai, their rallying cry, addressed to the Egyptians, was: "We are one people.")

According to surveys, 30% of Palestinians living in the West Bank are in favor of such a solution. But it meets with resistance from the Hashemite dynasty of Jordan, which fears for the loss of the throne ...

All the well-known Palestinian groups demonize such a plan:  The creation of a second Palestinian state next to Jordan has always been just a pretense for them to conceal their anti-Israel policies, and the recognition of Jordan enlarged by the West Bank as the state of the Palestinians would deprive them of this pretense.

Their real objective has always been the destruction of Israel and, with their phony anger at the "Zionist arrogance," they would still pursue this goal even if the Jews of Israel retreated all the way to Masada or Tel Aviv.

Christians United for Israel, (CUFI) hosted their third annual Israel/Washington, D.C. Summit this week, which proved to be the largest and most successful CUFI summit yet, with over 5,000 supporters rallying together to voice their Biblical support of Israel and share their views with members of Congress. The conference was an enormous success, capping a year of exceptional growth and demonstrating CUFI's rapid rise to become what many are calling the leading Christian grassroots organization in America.

The main event of the conference, the annual "Night to Honor Israel" banquet, featured Senator Joseph Lieberman, Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations: Dan Gillerman and Pastor John Hagee. Hagee welcomed the over 5,000 supporters and emphasized the increased strength of Christians United for Israel. Hagee also acknowledged the attendance of Catholic League leader, Bill Donohue, who received a warm welcome from participants.

Perhaps the most anticipated speaker of the evening was Senator Lieberman, who addressed CUFI members and reiterated his support for Israel and Hagee’s work with CUFI.

The summit also offered a variety of Middle East seminars and intelligence briefings, featuring influential speakers such as Gary Bauer, Congressmen Elliot Engel and Mike Pence, and William Kristol of The Weekly Standard. The CUFI summit culminated with a true show of democracy when thousands of attendees met with their elected officials in order to affirm their support for Israel.

Lieberman described an amendment he sponsored last year declaring Iran's Revolutionary Guard a terrorist group as a "no-brainer" that drew the votes of 76 senators. U.S. Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.), the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, opposed the amendment.

Lieberman, whose approval rate in Connecticut and among Jews is plummeting, clearly enjoyed the moment. He loved CUFI, he said, because "I can go back to scripture more than with many other groups -- frankly, including many Jewish groups."

The world now confronts the Islamist continuation of the Fascist quest to global cultural domination - unifying their power and mollifying the West (as did the Nazis) by continuing Hitler's concerted campaign of scapegoating to stimulate anti-Jewish resentment, and empathy for the 'redemptive' Fascists.

Muslim anti-Semitism is growing in scope and extremism, to the point that it has become a credible strategic threat for Israel, according to a 180-page report produced for Israeli policymakers by the semi-official Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center (ITIC) and obtained exclusively by The Jerusalem Post.

According to the report, by educating generations of Muslims with a deep animus toward Israel and Jews, this anti-Semitism, actively promulgated by many states in the region, holds back the peace process and normalization efforts between Israel and Muslim countries. It also forms the intellectual justification for an eliminationist political program.

"This isn't ordinary prejudice," explained ITIC director Col. (res.) Dr. Reuven Erlich, formerly of the IDF's Intelligence Directorate, who heads the team of researchers that produced the report. "This prejudice is evil because it isn't theoretical. It is ideological incitement by states and organizations with the practical means of translating it into action."

In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, rising anti-Semitic sentiment in Europe was injected into Muslim lands through commercial and diplomatic ties. Spurred by opposition to Zionism and ideologically strengthened by Nazi rhetoric and support, Muslim anti-Semitism grew in the 20th century into a phenomenon so widespread that blatantly anti-Semitic texts can be purchased on street corners of Arab cities, even in countries where almost no Jews remain.

The Syrian government still publishes [writings claiming] that Jews use Christian blood on Passover. You can't say this is anti-Israeli, or caused by the [Israeli-Palestinian] conflict."

The report makes clear that the phenomenon of Muslim anti-Semitism is now widespread, popular and expanding.

"The anti-Semitism that fed the Holocaust isn't dead," Erlich says. "It is prospering."
