While genuine threats abound, why does Democrat D.o.J. divert towards 'Republican political threats'?

"DOJ targets political threats when REAL threats abound" by Mike Huckabee 18 January '22

Pakistani-Briton, Texas synagogue hostage-taker,
Mr. Malik Faisal Akram (photo: Sky News)

A Dallas/Fort Worth-area rabbi and several others are taken hostage by an armed Pakistani-born terrorist at Congregation Beth Israel on Saturday 15 January. The terrorist reportedly wanted to negotiate for the release of, well, another terrorist, dubbed “Lady al-Qaeda,” who is serving more than 80 years in prison in Fort Worth for trying to kill American soldiers in Afghanistan. After more than 10 hours, the rabbi throws a chair at the terrorist and enables the whole group to escape. An FBI Hostage Rescue team finally closes in, and fortunately the terrorist is the only one who ends up dead.

Rabbi Charlie Cytron-Walker, known to congregants as “Rabbi Charlie,” is a hero; he credits training he got from police and the FBI. As the hours ticked by, he knew the terrorist was aware his negotiations were not getting him what he wanted, and the situation was deteriorating. The terrorist had become “belligerent and threatening,” the rabbi says, and had said he expected to die. Rabbi Charlie knew from his training that they had to get out of there somehow. Here are the details of what happened inside that synagogue.

https://nypost.com/2022/01/17/texas-rabbi-credits-security-training-for-hostage-survival/?utm_source=sailthru&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=news_alert&utm_content=20220117&lctg=60c37da7dba83e59146f67bc&utm_term=NYP%20-%20News%20Alerts

Apparently, the armed man didn’t even have to sneak into the synagogue. Rabbi Charlie had invited him in out of kindness because he appeared to need shelter, and the rabbi says he “didn’t hear anything suspicious” as he brewed a cup of tea for his guest. But while they were praying, he heard the click of the man’s gun.

Biden’s first reaction was a vapid claim that they didn’t yet know the motives of the hostage-taker. But the FBI later admitted the obvious and released a statement calling the ordeal “a terrorism-related matter, in which the Jewish community was targeted” and said the Joint Terrorism Task Force is investigating.

Fine, but Miranda Devine --- writer for the New York Post and author of LAPTOP FROM HELL --- says that “the attack is a reminder of times in the not-so-distant past, when Islamic terrorism was considered a far greater threat than a MAGA supporter, and the national security apparatus was deployed to protect American citizens, not attack them.” If the FBI is busy chasing down conservative parents who protest at school board meetings, for example, could it be that “the organization has taken its eye off the infiltration into our country of a terrorist like like Akram”? That sure would explain a lot.

https://nypost.com/2022/01/17/why-was-the-dallas-terrorist-allowed-into-the-us/

Devine makes the point that Democrats are using the Capitol Hill riot as a pretext for hunting their political enemies, not the real threats. Her opinion piece on this is a must-read:.

https://nypost.com/2022/01/16/dems-are-using-the-capitol-riot-to-hunt-political-foes/

So, tell me, FBI, how did this terrorist, the late, not-so-great Malik Faisal Akram, from the U.K., manage to fly into JFK Airport and then disappear into this country? According to his brother, “He’s known to police. Got a criminal record...was suffering from mental health issues.” He had no apparent means of support. He listed a hotel in Queens as his destination but traveled to Dallas, where he stayed at a homeless shelter for a week and bought a gun, apparently on the street.

A New York Post editorial put it this way: “American travelers put up with a vast amount of security theater --- millions of man-hours lost each year to unpredictably long TSA lines; intrusive pat-downs; the whole take-off-your-shoes-and-belt rigamarole. Yet the vast security apparatus can’t screen out a mentally ill Muslim extremist?” They’re right: This guy was such a screwball, he made news in the U.K. for being banned from a court after ranting about 9/11. We’re now hearing that he was known to MI-5, the British counterpart to our FBI.

Meanwhile, our “Justice” Department has created a “Sedition Task Force” to investigate Trump supporters for attempting to “overthrow the government” and has put Capitol Hill rally attendees on no-fly lists. The government has set up a National Strategy for Countering Domestic Terrorism. The national security apparatus has been weaponized against conservatives. But, hey, welcome to America, you disturbed, U.S.-hating Islamic terrorist!

https://nypost.com/2022/01/17/why-was-the-dallas-terrorist-allowed-into-the-us/

When DOJ resources are directed for political reasons to what is wrongly labeled a domestic terrorist threat –- such as conservatives daring to question the honesty of the 2020 election –- that means real threats like this Malik Faisal Akram get to waltz right in.

The attorney general, to please Democrats who accuse him of “inaction,” bragged last week about the enormous array of resources they’re devoting to their investigation of January 6, as if Trump supporters were the worst threat to America since the Civil War. (Actually, many leftists, the ones who watch too much MSNBC, believe that.) Meanwhile, a rabbi and several in his congregation came close to losing their lives.

https://thelibertydaily.com/why-did-the-fbi-ignore-a-known-terrorist-threat-while-focusing-on-arresting-maga-meemaws/

Steve Hilton, on this weekend’s “The Next Revolution,” asked guest Tulsi Gabbard what she thought of the deputy Attorney General’s condemnation of anyone who is “anti-authority” for being part part of what he calls domestic violent extremism. And I have to say that, even though she’s in the Democrat Party for some inexplicable reason, she gave an answer that made a lot of sense --- an answer that one might even expect to hear from a Republican.

“I think it’s really important to bold, highlight and underline what he said,” she told him. “...The authorities of the Biden administration are targeting Americans for holding anti-authority views. That is authoritarianism. And what does that mean to us, here at home? We’re supposed to just sit back passively, follow along, put those blinders on and do whatever they tell us to do? That undermines the heart of our democratic republic, that undermines the essence of our Constitution...”

“...This is where they’re exposing their anti-liberty, anti-democracy mindset, which is so dangerous.”   (article continues below)

The American (Islamist) campaign to extricate lady Aafia Siddiqui from prison

by Steven Emerson of I.P.T. News

Most Americans may not have heard of Aafia Siddiqui before Saturday, when
Malik Faisal Akram, an Islamist gunman entered Congregation Beth Israel in Colleyville, Texas, outside Dallas, and took the female rabbi and three congregants hostage. Thankfully, the standoff ended without any hostage being harmed.

But for many American Islamist groups, Siddiqui is a martyr, "another victim of the U.S. war of terror."  In rallies and seminars throughout the past year, groups including the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), American Muslims for Palestine (AMP) and the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) Council for Social Justice demanded that Siddiqui be freed.

Ms. Siddiqui was sentenced to 86 years in prison after her 2010 conviction for attempting to kill U.S. personnel in Afghanistan who were preparing to interrogate her. She was able to grab an M4 rifle and, according to her indictment, open fire. Her shots missed and she was wounded by return fire.

When she was arrested, she was carrying "documents that discussed the construction of weapons, referenced a 'mass casualty attack,' and listed a number of New York City landmarks," the Second U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals noted in rejecting her appeal. Some of those documents were in her handwriting and had her fingerprints on them.

"The strength of the government's case was overwhelming," the court found.

After she was shot, she struggled with the Americans. A witness heard her say, "I am going to kill all you Americans. You are going to die by my blood." While recovering from her wound at Bagram Air Base, Siddiqui asked people guarding her about the penalty for attempted murder and "said that she had picked up a rifle with the intention of scaring the American team and escaping; and (4) noted that "spewing" bullets at Americans was a bad thing."

In addition, Siddiqui had a family connection to 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheik Mohammed. She moved from the United States to Pakistan after the al-Qaida attacks, telling a psychologist who interviewed her that "Americans were intending to abduct Muslim children and were converting them to Christianity."

In Pakistan, she married K.S. Mohammed's nephew.

The court record and Siddiqui's family connections have gone unmentioned during the recent events advocating for her cause. So, too, has the way terrorist groups see her as a "superstar."

"On several occasions, both the Taliban and Islamic State have asked for either the release or extradition of Dr. Siddiqui in exchange for U.S. captives," Joe Kasper, deputy chief of staff to then-U.S. Rep. Duncan Hunter told the Los Angeles Times in 2014. Kasper, the story said, had access "to communications with the militant networks."

ISIS, for example, made separate offers to free American hostages James Foley and Kayla Mueller in exchange for Siddiqui. The Taliban also reportedly offered prisoner swaps to free Siddiqui. Both hostages were murdered.

A third terrorist group, Jabhat al Nusra, trained an Ohio resident named Abdirahman Sheik Mohamud to plot a terrorist attack on the Texas penitentiary where Siddiqui is serving her sentence, George Washington University's Program on Extremism noted in a 2018 report. According to a prosecution sentencing memo, "Siddiqui's conviction and imprisonment at a federal facility in Texas was a rallying point for Al-Qa'ida and other terrorist groups," and Mohamud researched information about the prison. He planned "to execute 'something big' like travelling to Texas, where Dr. Siddiqui was being held, capturing three or four soldiers and killing them execution style."

At an October rally held in New York sponsored by more than a dozen groups, including the Aafia Foundation, CAIR, AMP, and the Muslim American Society, speakers claimed that her arrest and conviction were actually part of a war waged on Islam.

"Aafia is our Statue of Liberty. Aafia's hijab is our crown," said Yousef Baig, whose Facebook page indicates he used to work for CAIR's Houston office. "She is our sister. So why are we here today? We're here for Aafia. She carries our faith in heart, just like brother [Mauri] Saalakhan said, she is a hafiza [memorized the Quran]. She carries our faith within her, and our faith has been assaulted when Aafia was assaulted. Our religion, our book, our faith was desecrated when she was tortured. And our prophet is disappointed because we have not done enough for her."

The United States government denies Siddiqui was ever mistreated.

Muslim Americans need to stand up for Siddiqui, said former CAIR-Florida Executive Director Hassan Shibly, who also painted a picture of recently deceased American political and military leaders "answering for their deeds" in the afterlife.

"Our sister Aafia Siddiqui's imprisonment is a test for us more than it is a test for her. Allah is testing us," Shibly said at the New York rally. "What are we doing to stand for our sister, for her family, for all those victims of the United States war of terror against the Muslim world. She is another victim of the U.S. war of terror. And the perpetrators will be held accountable, if not in this life, in the next. Rumsfeld, Bush senior, Powell, they are all answering for their deeds at this very moment. And they must answer for each and every Iraqi, Afghani, Pakistani, every person of color, every person throughout the world whose blood has been shed."

Siddiqui "embodies a political prisoner," antisemitic activist Linda Sarsour said during a November webinar sponsored by CAIR-Texas. "And I see her in the same realm that I see Imam Jamil and Leonard Peltier, and many other former black Panther party leaders and others who have been subjected to torture and subjected to solitary confinement and subjected to things that no human being should be subjected to in our incarceration system. I believe like you said, you know, no one was killed. To have an 86-year sentence when no one's life was taken is absolutely outrageous. And I'm sure that the general American public will say whatever you believe that Dr. Aafia did, the fact [is] that there are no dead bodies."

CAIR was quick to condemn the incident and claim that it stands with the Jewish community. But that solidarity is opportunistic.

CAIR lauds Siddiqui, but overlooks her antisemitic statements, including demanding that no Jews be allowed to serve on her jury.

CAIR double downed in defending its San Francisco chapter leader, Zahra Billoo, after she gave a speech in November urging an audience to "pay attention" to just about all facets of the American Jewish community. The "polite Zionists" are still their enemies, she said.

"They are not your friends," she said. "They will not be there for you when you need them. They will take your friendship and throw your Palestinian brothers and sisters under the bus."

No one in Congregation Beth Israel had anything to do with Siddiqui's case. It appears that the gunman chose to target Jews at a synagogue near her prison.

The homegrown jihad lesson that the Muslim Lobby and Obama conceal

Muslim leader from CAIR tells CNN America bears some blame for terror attacks" Fox News, Dec 4
Hussam Ayloush, Exec Dir., CAIR-L.A (photo: Jim Hoft)
According to a spokesman for the Council on American-Islamic Relations, America bears some of the blame for the bloody wave of Islamic extremism that has brought terrorism to San Bernardino, Paris and locations around the world.

In a Friday CNN interview, Hussam Ayloush, of the group’s Los Angeles chapter, said American foreign policy has helped fuel the rage that drives Muslim radicals to kill in the name of their faith.

“Let’s not forget that some of our own foreign policy, as Americans, as the west, have fueled that extremism,” Ayloush told “New Day” host Chris Cuomo during a discussion about Wednesday’s terrorist attack in San Bernardino, Calif., where a Muslim married couple killed 14 and wounded 21 at a holiday party for the county health department that employed the husband, Syed Rizwan Farook.

The San Bernardino Terrorists Weren't Radicals - They Were Mainstream
A huge tiny minority of extremists by Daniel Greenfield in FrontPage Magazine

After Tashfeen Malik and Syed Farook killed 14 Americans in their corner of the Jihad over in San Bernardino, the media began its long laborious search for their moment of “radicalization”.
Tashfeen Malik and Syed Farook injured 22 and killed 14
The assumption that the intersection of terrorism and Islam can only be an aberration lead to the conviction that there was some moment in time at which Malik and Farook became “radical extremists”. . .

But what if Syed Farook and Tashfeen Malik were never “radicalized”? What if neither of them “influenced” the other? What if both were exactly what they appear to be, devout Muslims who hated America and believed that it was their religious duty to kill Americans? What if this attitude did not show up last week or last year? What if it was the way that their culture and religion taught them to live? Read more:

Nonie Darwish: The Sad Reasons for the Delay in Publishing Photos of Tashfeen Malik - Dec 6 Pamela Geller.com

Obama does not even care about appearances when it comes to Islam and protecting Muslim sensitivities. It is not just Americans who are left wondering why Obama appears more concerned about the reputation of Islam than the reputation of America. But many around the world, including Muslims in the Middle East, are wondering about Obama’s loyalties and priorities.

(In this exclusive video interview, author Nonie Darwish tells DemoCast why she feels authorities are incorrect to characterize the matter as "radicalized Islamist terrorism)."

Having been born and raised in a Muslim culture, I have little doubt that the Muslim leaders Loretta Lynch met with asked her not to show the photo of the Muslim female terrorist. Their explanation for keeping the photo away from the public eye was probably because they claimed that showing a photo of a veiled Muslim terrorist who was also a new immigrant would inflame Americans against veiled Muslim women.  Read the full article on: http://pamelageller.com

UC Irvine suspends Muslim Student's Association for disrupting Israel's Amb. Oren talk

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The University of California, Irvine, has suspended a Muslim student group for at semester quarter because of a protest that disrupted a talk by Israel's ambassador and led to the arrests of 11 students.

The university on Monday released a letter from a student affairs disciplinary committee to Muslim Student Union leaders. It says the group was found guilty of disorderly conduct, obstructing university activities and other violations of campus policy.

The Muslim Student Union condemned Ambassador Michael Oren's appearance in February. It has insisted it did not organize the protests, but the committee found it did engineer the protests and instructed participants to lie about its involvement.

Muslim Student Union spokesman Hadeer Soliman did not immediately respond to an e-mail from The Associated Press requesting comment.

What CAIR worked to prevent Sinai Temple from showing you: ACT for America's counterjihadist founder, Brigitte Gabriel

Founder of ACT for America and American Congress for Truth, Brigitte Gabriel, appeared last night at Sinai Temple in Los Angeles.  The L.A. office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-LA) launched a defamation campaign to discredit Ms. Gabriel in an attempt to influence Sinai Temple to pre-empt her appearance.  ACT for America has several regional, grassroots groups in Southern California and many members attended.  The audience was vociferously concerned about encroaching Islamist influence throughout the world. The half-Christian, half- Jewish audience was united in their view that Islamic imperialism is a motivating factor behind the threats to Israel's safety, and violence to spread Islamic influence over the West.  Much of CAIR's opposition to Ms. Gabriel was on allegations of Islamophobia.

Democracy Broadcasting News filmed exclusive video on-scene. Watch it here and see whether you find Ms. Gabriel's appearance informative or objectionable - and please leave your Comments below. Ms. Gabriel was introduced by Consul General of Los Angeles' Israeli Consulate, Mr. Jacob Dayan.

O.C. Politics: 3-weeks after MSU vs Oren affair, D.A. files no charges against "Irvine 11" militants; Assemblyman DeVore seeks ban of Muslim Student Union from UC Irvine

(KPCC Wire Services) IRVINE — Assemblyman Chuck DeVore sent a letter to UC Irvine's chancellor asking him to ban the Muslim Student Union from campus following several of the group members' arrests while disrupting a speech by Israel's ambassador to the United States.

DeVore, (R-Irvine), who is seeking the Republican nomination for the U.S. Senate seat held by Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., also accused the Muslim Student Union of "passing the hat'' for Hamas at a fundraiser for the "terrorist organization'' last year.

"It's time to ban this organization from campus,'' DeVore said. "It's not contributing anything of value to the campus.''

DeVore's letter to UCI Chancellor Michael Drake requesting the ban of the Muslim Student Union follows the arrest of 11 students after allegedly disrupting a Feb. 8 speech by Israeli Ambassador Michael Oren at the campus.

UCI Media Relations Director Cathy Lawhon said the university's response to DeVore's letter is that UCI officials are considering the allegations against the 11 students and the Muslim Student Union. The students and organization face a range of discipline from a warning to expulsion, but it is not known when officials will decide on punishment, Lawhon said.  None of the 11 students who were arrested have been charged, according to court records.

The university is also still investigating the Muslim Student Union's fundraiser last year that critics say benefited Hamas.

The university has been roiled over permitting an anti-Semitic climate to fester on campus over the past several years.

Freedom Defense Initiative holds CAIR-opposed contra-jihad event alongside CPAC

Freedom Defense Initiative held "Jihad: the Political Third Rail alongside the Conservative CPAC Convention in Washington today, despite protestations from CAIR to CPAC to prevent it.

Hosted by Robert Spencer (Jihad Watch) and Pamela Geller (Atlas Shrugs) this video introduced by Ms. Geller includes a composite of remarks by Mrs. Wafa Sultan and former-Pentagon advisor Stephan Coughlan. Also participating were Lt. Col Alan West, Sudanese human-rights activist Simon Deng, and European contra-Islamists Anders Gravers and Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff.

Many attended (standing-room only) demonstrating interest in the topic, not sufficiently addressed within the official CPAC curriculum.

Mark Koenig chronicles the event in David Horowitz' NewsReal:
Robert Spencer introduced the next speaker – Stephen Coughlin – a former Pentagon Islamic law specialist who was fired from his job for his analysis of Islamic infiltration. Coughlin provided a clear and cogent analysis of the Islamic threat. He explained that the question of whether or not these terrorists are following ‘true’ Islam is irrelevant from a fact-driven perspective. They have repeatedly told us these are the reasons they fight jihad.

A vital part of Coughlin’s discussion dealt with the doctrine of abrogation within Islam. This doctrine states that Mohammed was given progressive revelation of Allah’s will, and that the later Koranic verses supersede and nullify earlier contradictory more peaceful verses. This is something that is recognized by all schools of Islamic jurisprudence. Coughlin also demonstrated that since the 9-11 commission report, political correctness has expunged words such as Muslim, enemy, Al-Qaeda and Islam from official government documents including the Ft. Hood massacre report. Coughlin:

“The 9-11 commission has been completely undermined. You cannot defeat an enemy you are not allowed to define. By definition, this administration has no strategy to defeat this enemy since they refuse to define it.”

Israel's Amb. Michael Oren's address into the state of American-Israel relations- to the chagrin of Univ of Calif Irvine, Muslim Students Union disruptors- 11 arrested

Ambassador Michael Oren addressed an overflow audience on US-Israel relationship and global affairs at the Univ of Calif Irvine. He discussed the Zionistic element (support for the return of the people of Israel to their ancestral homeland) within America's founding and maturing, from John Adams, through Abraham Lincoln, to Harry Truman. He discussed Americans' widespread spiritual and social support for democratic Israel, the only land where rule of law guarantees free-speech in the Middle East. He discussed the evolution of the multi-faceted ties between the US and Israel- which strategic relationship began towards the end of the 1967 Six-Day War.

Amb. Oren noted the U.S. and Israel's shared values - spiritual and democratic, and their shared interests- economic and political - from allying to resisting Communism, to resisting Islamic-extremism, today.

He discussed the state of the current relationship between Washington and Jerusalem, vis a vis the Obama's administration's pressure to force the creation of a state of Palestine. He discussed Israel's considerations regarding the conditions of Palestinian sovereignty and prioritizing it over stopping nuclear proliferation within the Islamic world - which would extort the West with threats to leak nuclear-weapons into Islamic-extremists' hands.

U.C. Irvine, with a large Muslim enrollment, has been criticized for fomenting a climate of aggressive anti-Semitism and anti-Americanism through its Muslim Students Union. The M.S.U. organized a stream of students disrupting through the speech, ignoring appeals from Chancellor Paul Drake and Political Science Dept Director Mark Petraca. Police Chief Paul Hensley did not elect to position a uniformed police deterrence between the disrupting Muslims' seating sections and the Ambassador at the podium following repeated outbursts- and Muslim students continued to disregard faculty appeals- creating 10 disruptions. Amb. Oren walked out briefly, but Rabbi David Eliezrie relates that he elected to return on his dedication to the attendees, his Jewish perseverance, and the promise of his hosts to suspend or expel further disruptors.

Eleven students in total were arrested and charged with a misdemeanor- eight from U.C. Irvine and
three from U.C. Riverside. Irvine disruptors arrested: Joseph Tamim Haider, Osama Ahmed Sabry Shabaik, Mohamed Mohy Eldeen Abdelgany, Ali Mohammed Sayeed, Asaad Traina, Mohammad Qureashi, Aslam Akhtar, and Hakim Nasreddine Kebir.

Riverside disruptors arrested: Taher Herzallam, Shaheen Waleed Nassar and Khalid Bahgat Akari.

Shalom Elcott, President and CEO of Jewish Federation Orange County, said the highly-orchestrated disruptions by the President of the Muslim Student Union (MSU) - who was arrested, along with one MSU board member and 10 other student protesters - constituted an embarrassment to the University and an insult to the broader community. “While we had hoped the administration would have been better prepared to thwart groups or individuals trying to harass Ambassador Oren, we do commend the University police for making arrests and taking action to escort the perpetrators out of the room,” says Elcott. “And, we are proud of the Ambassador not letting the disruptions stop him from completing his address. We will intensely monitor what actions the University administration will take in response to this evening’s event and will report our findings to the community,” says Elcott.

Palestinian political refugee, Ghazi Brighith, denounced the Muslim agitators' behavior as deplorable and un-Islamic.

Israeli-American activist, Nurit Greenger, called upon Chancellor Michael Drake in a written appeal to seek full prosecution for those arrested students, including expulsion from UCI, and deportation of those who are here student visas. "They are not welcome here to try distorting our culture and way of life. We want civility restored at UCI and nothing less will suffice," Ms. Greenger wrote.

Update 26 Feb: Though Police Chief Hensley told DemoCast that the arrested would be referred to the District Attorney for prosecution, none of the 11 students who were arrested have been charged, according to court records as of 23 Feb.

Militant Muslims Challenge FBI & U Cal Authorities

FBI: agent was investigating vehicle when confronted by Muslim student" story from Bakersfield Californian, courtesy JihadWatch

"The agent blew his siren and used the cars PA system to warn" the group, the (FBI) bureau said in a statement. "

At that point, it was clear that this was a law enforcement vehicle. At least one person threw or placed a cinder block under the law enforcement vehicle," Eimiller said.

Hugh Fitzgerald of JihadWatch comments: "The story is telling. Muslims in Europe long ago showed they are willing to confront the forces of order, to disobey them, to vandalize, to threaten, to beat to death Infidels who happen to be around (two Frenchmen were so murdered), to kidnap and torture an Infidel (Mr. Halimi), to do whatever it is they wish to do. They are not intimidated. The people in the story above were clearly not intimidated. They were perfectly willing to attempt to harm this FBI agent, who had identified himself, and who, furthermore, had done nothing at all except conduct some surveillance.

This is a test case. The test is of the FBI, and of Congress, and of the federal government. We are waiting.
