Lisa Holland, foreign affairs correspondent for Sky News writes Tripoli Shock: Minders Snatch 'Rape Victim':

We were having breakfast in our hotel when the woman broke in and said she'd been picked up at a checkpoint in the city.

The woman was gagged by hand and taken away by minders

She claimed she had been held for two days, and that she had been raped and tortured.

The woman showed marks on her body which she said she had received as a result of beatings by the people who were holding her, Gaddafi supporters.

She showed marks on her legs and on her wrists, which she suggested came from handcuffs.

In a state of great distress, she said she had suffered this beating because she was from Benghazi, the city where the uprising began in the east of the country.

As journalists tried to speak to her, things got out of control and the police minders waded in, trying to physically shut her up and stop her talking.

Hers is not the voice they want heard in this country. In the commotion a gun was pointed towards the Sky News team in an attempt to stop them filming.

A team from CNN had their camera smashed in front of them.

After about 15 minutes the woman was dragged outside the hotel and put into a waiting car.

As I tried to get in the way, a minder put his hand over the woman's mouth to stop her talking.

She was driven away at speed and we have no idea where she was taken. Her story could not be immediately verified, but the scene provided glimpse of the atmosphere in the city.

Government officials initially said they knew nothing about this woman, although another official later added the woman's mental health would be assessed.

Now that you've seen the true ugly head of Arab press-handlers, imagine the gov't henchmen breaking the arms of domestic stringer journalists for international news agencies if they dare vary from any fabrication the Arab gov't wants to convince the world of. That's how what you've been told about Palestine has been shaped. (That Palestinian Arabs are a nation who's land is being occupied by Israelis- and Israel perpetrates atrocities conventionally, and that if only Israel would give them their own state & army & pull Jews away, then the Palestinians would stop slaughtering innocent Israeli children in their cradles and live happily alongside of Israel). Try to re-think everything you've been told that came out of Palestine (or the complict reporters hoteling in East Jerusalem) regarding the Palestinian - Israeli governments - and their roles - and how a State will be a panacea for the region and the world. In fact, it's just the opposite.

Liberal press installs its first President -- and re-vilifies its perennial pariah

Al-Durah lessons lost.  By regurgitating unverified 'Pallywood' pictures and statistics to fulfill their mutual agenda (vilify the Jews) is the mainstream media complicit with Hamas in killing Palestinian civilians?

The IDF Spokesperson's Office shares intelligence- map evidence of how Hamas exploits the civilians of the Gaza strip as human shields.  Here are two aerial photographs which illustrate how Hamas deploys rocket launchers within densely populated areas in the Gaza strip, next to schools, mosques and medical facilities.  Residential buildings are used as arms depots and rigged with explosive charges, without any consideration given to potential civilian casualties.

Hamas views their cause of Jihad to conquer Jerusalem (and ethnically cleanse Jews out of Israel, as they did out of Gaza) for the honor of Allah - as justification for their strategy of provoking civilian casualties for media vilification of Israel. This creates international pressure on Israel to accomodate Palestinians for peace, while exacting hundreds of millions of unaccountable "humanitarian" aid into Palestinian discretionary accounts - appropriable toward advancing the Jihad imperialist offensive.

The media have represented Israel's defensive action - to protect its civilians - out of context.  Hamas has foresworn itself to eradicate Jewish self-governance in Israel, and has incited scores of acts of murderous terror - killing more than 1,000 civilians, through such means as the inhumane, kamikaze, suicide-bombings phenomenon.  Israeli civilians have been the victim of over 3,000 of Hamas' terrorizing rocket attacks since it disengaged from Gaza over 3 years ago.  Southern Israel communities have been terrorized and traumatized by Hamas' guerilla strategy to attack Israeli civilians. 



The first few videos demonstrate Hamas' war-crime of initiating attacks from civilian areas to provoke Israeli retaliatory strikes that generate valuable, civilian-casualties for strategic propaganda benefit.  Boston University Professor Richard Landes (of The Augean Stables) speaks by telephone with Arutz Sheva's Tovia Singer - regarding the Palestinian "Pallywood" PR policy of fabrication and dishonesty in staging fake images of Palestinian civilian casualties, victimization, and suffering for the intimidated, complicit press. This was exposed and exemplified by the debunked Mohammed al-Durah affaire during the intifada (on the Second Draft.org).

The next few videos demonstrate the utter lack of integrity of Hamas (and its tacit United Nations enablers).  Arab YouTubers' hidden videos show the savagery of theocratic Hamas' thuggery towards ordinary Palestinian civilians (which the human-rights hypocrites uttered not a word in protest- simply because that violence was not being done by Jews - even in self-defense).  Yes, the media is once again (and not unwittingly) peddling unreliable, Palestinian fakery without (besides the complicit, Palestinian-biased U.N., Amnesty Int'l, and Human Rights Watch) truly independent verification - and the unwitting public is again swallowing Arafat's apostles' "gospel."

MSM buries France2 v. Karsenty; case reveals MSM's complicity in Pallywood to advocate own agendas; condemns press' credibility

CBN News' 'The 700 Club' report, "Anti-Semitism on the Rise in Europe," quotes DemoCast

Anti-Semitism on the Rise in Europe by Dale Hurd, CBN News Senior Reporter, broadcast on The 700 Club, Thursday, 6 March 2008 - and streams on CBN News. DemoCast was credited in this TV news report (see below).

"In France, a court is deciding whether a government TV channel, France2, showed faked footage of the supposed death of a Palestinian boy, Mohammed al-Durah, during the second intifada in 2000, to make it look like he was killed by Israeli soldiers.

When the judge ordered France2 to turn over all of its footage of the incident, it also showed the boy moving his arms and peering through his fingers after he was supposed to be dead.

But Muslim rage at the original France2 news story led to countless reprisals against Jews around the world. It was even mentioned by terrorists as a reason for the beheading Daniel Pearl.

Scott Jacobs, Editor at DemocracyBroadcastingNews.com, says the France2 story "globally defames the Jewish nation, Israel, with a fabricated icon of hypocritical brutality and immorality; and criminalizes Jews and their State to justify pariah / punishment."

Prof. Richard Landes, chronicler of the Al Dura Affaire via The Second Draft, is the academic authority on the problem and the ramifications:

"Israelis repeatedly express astonishment at why Jews from the diaspora care about setting this record straight when they just wish it would go away. When they realize how powerful the impact not only on Israel, but on Jews around the world, they express surprise.

As Karsenty later explained to the judges, “The day after al Durah, one of my employees came into the office and challenged me, ‘Look at what your army has done, murdering an innocent child!’” In Brussels, a rabbi was attacked the next day on the way to New Year’s services, never having seen the footage.

That’s the core of the blood libel: a Jew deliberately murders an innocent child, and all Jews everywhere are held responsible. Five days later crowds of immigrant Muslims and European leftists would hold a huge banner aloft in Place de la République with a "Star of David = Swastika = picture of the al Durahs behind the barrel," shouting “Death to Israel! Death to the Jews!”

In related news, 'Ron Hogan on Media Bistro writes a review of philosopher Bernard-Henri Lévy who appeared at NY's 92nd Street Y. He weighed in on the ways that anti-semitism has reconfigured itself for the 21st century.

"I am a few months younger than Israel," Lévy quipped at the start of his speech, but he cannot remember any moment in his lifetime when the nation seemed "as lonely, as vulnernable, and as threatened" as it is now, particularly as the anti-semitism that he sees at the root of much anti-Zionist rhetoric has become more openly expressed. "The dikes are broken," he warned, citing the UN conference at Durban and the boycotts being mounted against book fairs in Paris and Turin which have chosen to honor Israel's contributions to world literature.

So what can Jews do against this pernicious worldview?

"Respond blast for blast," Lévy urged, and dismantle this new anti-semitic rhetoric before it coalesces into a political movement with real power. (As he noted, the new anti-semites are openly looking to acquire nuclear weapons, and if they get them, they plan to use them.) He also called upon Jews to strengthen their alliances with other persecuted groups, and to work whatever influence they could muster to ensure that moderate Muslims prevail in that religion's internal struggle with fundamentalism. (He even suggested that the Koran might benefit
from the application of Talmudic reading.) And, he noted, "the morale of Israel is at its best," and ready to deal with this threat. "The best defense is attack," he said, citing Clausewitz, "and the best attack is confrontation."

How the News is Made - Reuters Self-Exposed Again

The Gloria Center's Barry Rubin penned this must read expose into Reuters News Agency's editorial practices on stories involving the Jewish State of Israel:

...The World Bank annual reports are entitled "Intifada, Closures and Palestinian Economic Crisis." They make the very simple point that the intifada--an armed Palestinian war on Israel--leads to closures and thus the combination brings on a crisis. The reports are quite careful in pointing out all the factors that led to the Palestinian economic decline. They do not say the losses were strictly due to Israeli curbs on movement. On the contrary, the 2003 report for example, written at the height of the violence, says the closures and movement restrictions are pretty insignificant. (see it here).

This specific example of dishonesty matters because the approach we see here--predetermining the story, ignoring most of the factors involved, blaming Israel--sets a pattern for a whole raft-full of stories:

1. Why is there no peace? Israel doesn't give enough concessions. Often there is no mention of Palestinian hardline positions, behavior in not keeping commitment, terrorism as a key element in the failure to achieve peace. Most important of all, there is endless talk about what Israel can or should give for peace but far less about what the Palestinians must give: end of conflict, full recognition of Israel, return of refugees to a Palestinian state, a real end to incitement and terrorism.
   
   
2. Why is there suffering in Gaza? Israel's restrictions. Far less mention of Hamas hard line, openly genocidal stance, constant aid to terrorist attacks and rocket firing, refusal to meet even minimal international requirements.
   
   
3. Why are Palestinians, to quote the Reuters story, "Deprived of dignity"? No mention of a corrupt government and gangs of gunmen who couldn't care less about their well-being, and a strategy that starts unwinnable wars. It's all Israel's fault.

It is bad enough that this kind of coverage is shaping the way that many in the West see the Middle East. What is really horrible is that these articles are being deliberately written to do so.

Pally-wood: The Most Lucrative Snuff-Film Producer in the World

Is maintaining the appearance of Israel appearing oppressive and Palestinians appearing victimized actually a patsy for Elites absconding with billions of dollars in humanitarian aid fraud? Connect the dots yourself.

For as much sympathy as it can evoke by media depictions of victimization by Israeli hostility, the Palestinian Authority is able to generate commensurate billions of dollars in humanitarian aid from Western taxpayers (through direct aid & UN programs) and some Arab monarchs (who benefit from portraying Israel as enemy-worthy).

The 'news' is systematically manufactured by an permanent, Arafat-initiated, propaganda campaign ("Pally-wood" alleges Augean Stables' media expert, Prof. Richard Landes and French-based Media-Ratings.Fr director, Philippe Karsenty) with foreign media complicit for their social and business agendas. To what extent does this propaganda / hoax business benefit the Palestinian leaders and their EU donors? By evoking humanitarian aid funds from the West, which can evade accountability, i.e. kickback.

Where has the previous $10 billion in foreign aid gone and to where will future money likely go?

According to the Jerusalem Post's Caroline Glick (detailed amounts in an extensive article, "Palestinians are the new, chosen people" by Boker Tov Boulder):

"Since its establishment in 1994, the PA has received more aid per capita than any other group of people in the world has ever received - more than the victims of genocide in Sudan or Rwanda, more that the victims of the tsunami in Asia,
more than the Iraqis or the Afghans - more than anyone."

In the same article it's noted that "terrorists sitting in Israeli prisons get $4 million a month," and more millions are paid to families of dead terrorists.

And weren't we talking about Muhammed Dahlan just the other day? He's been quoted as admitting that of the $10 billion in international aid that the Palestinians have received over the past 12 years, some $5 billion has gone missing.

This problem is not new, as terror-funding tracking author, Rachel Ehrenfeld, indicated in the National Review exactly 4 years ago:

... The Israeli government had already given them (Members of the European Parliament, "MEPS") volumes of captured Palestinian documents providing evidence that the PA was using EU funds to pay for homicide bombings, the upkeep of terrorists, weapons, and bomb-manufacturing plants; vacations, travel, scholarships and medical treatments for members of the Palestinian leadership and their families; and — not least — Chairman Arafat's personal bank accounts.

How is it possible that the International Monetary Fund, CBS, the BBC, and even the PA itself were all able to document the PA's misuse of funds while Commissioner Patten failed to acknowledge it?

Despite thousands of the PA's own documents — some signed by Yasser Arafat himself — European Union's external-relations commissioner, Christopher Patten, Hannes Swoboda (a member of the European parliament's ad hoc working group on aid to the PA), and many other MEPs not only continue to deny that European tax money has funded Palestinian terrorism, but also claim that the PA documents, authenticated by American, German, and Israeli experts —
and even by the Palestinians themselves — are "forgeries produced by Israel." ...

History gives us little reason to think the PA will stop funding terrorism. Maybe it's time to hold European donors legally accountable for the return on their investment.

The AP reports that on 14 & 17 December '07 in Paris, "Palestinians ask for $5.8 billion in aid"

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas will ask the international community
this week to nearly double aid through 2010, for a total of $5.8 billion.

Abbas says he needs help with a huge deficit run up in years of strife,
but also is promising to curb spending and spark economic growth.
The Abbas government's 2008-2010 development plan, obtained by The
Associated Press, will be given to officials from donor countries in Paris on
Friday, ahead of a high-level donor meeting there on Dec. 17.

Islamists Build Global Propaganda Facility on Jewish Ruins

While Palestinian civil-servants work unsalaried, Palestinians construct a $50-million Media City upon the ruins of Jewish Gaza to maximize international press demonization of Israel and Jewish people.

Variety.com reports that Middle-East Broadcasting Center (MBC) Group's founder and chairman Saudi Sheik Waleed al Ibrahim (publisher of al-Arabiya news channel) announced he is expanding his media empire to develop films and new channels.

The prospect of Saudi Arabia opening up itself from an entertainment industry standpoint may also have a huge bearing on the ultimate success of MBC's film venture. Officials in the conservative Kingdom are prepping new media laws set to liberalize the biz there and work is also well under way on the King Abdullah Economic City, which may well include a media zone that could challenge the supremacy of Dubai's media city. Talk has also been rife for months that the Saudi royal family is finally planning to lift the three-decade-long ban on cinemas.

"It's a matter of laws and regulations," says bin Ibrahim. "It's being talked about openly in the papers. It is just a matter of time. It will be a very big market and will change the piracy here."

Next year should also bring the launching of more MBC channels.

With the Arab TV market nearing saturation point -- with more than 250 free-to-air satcasters, in addition to payboxes Showtime Arabia, Orbit and ART -- MBC execs are going local, with a number of terrestrial offerings under evaluation. "We're looking at launching specific channels in specific regions, whether that be in North Africa, the Palestinian territories or Kuwait," says bin Ibrahim. "They would have a lot of MBC content but really be geared terrestrially and focus on a local market where you can then utilize our content but get local advertising and local ratings."
