From gold to dust - Californians consider alternatives to problematic, Democrat policies

With 33-million residents, a growing number of illegal aliens over-burdening the social welfare systems, and large financial entitlement responsibilities, issues that California's next Governor must improve were explored at the American Freedom Alliance's "The destruction of California Conference" in August of last year.

Ms. Michael Lee Greer, the V.P. of American Freedom Alliance who writes at "Madder than Hell" explains the subjects that the group's conference "From Gold to Dust: The destruction of California" (20 Aug 2017) conference addressed. 

She describes some of the expert speakers, which include Dr. Victor Davis Hanson, Sr. Fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University.

American Freedom Alliance's Executive Director, Karen Siegemund, remarks on the need for the group's summer Conference to focus on "California: From Gold to Dust." 

Classical scholar, Victor Davis Hanson, resides in Central California, educates at Stanford in Palo Alto, and addresses the political, economic, and cultural disparity between the liberal elites along the Pacific Coast and the rest of the state, 40 miles east of the coast.

Los Angelenos seek a reformer to lead vital, but embattled, County Sheriff Department

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department provides law enforcement services in unincorporated areas and 40 cities, operates jails, directs and coordinates emergency services and maintains security in superior courts.  On June 3rd, Southern Californians will vote to replace the office of L.A. County Sheriff vacated by the resignation of Lee Baca in January.  

Sheriff Baca spoke with DemoCast about his affinity for fellow military veterans at a ceremony at Forest Lawn 3-years ago.

"Los Angeles County voters are soon to pick a new sheriff from a field of seven candidates, each with a reasonably decent chance of making it to a runoff, and it's hard to overstate both how unusual and how momentous that is,"  L.A. Times published in its Opinion/Endorsements section on April 30th.

KCAL9's Dave Bryan reports on the first public debate of the campaign between six of the seven candidates for Los Angeles County Sheriff sparred on March 19th.



The Times continued: "What is needed is a candidate with the law enforcement credentials, the integrity, the backbone and the skills to march the deputies, their leaders and their culture through a rigorous and soul-searching reinvention, all while raising performance standards and recommitting the department to transparency and humane and constitutional treatment of suspects, inmates and the public at large.

L.A. Sheriff candidate Long Beach P.D. Chief Jim McDonnell came to explain his positions to prospective voters and backers at a brunch organized by the family and friends of businessman and philanthropist, Stanley Black, in Beverly Hills on May 17th.


Among those attending were actor James Darren (seen listening with interest) and and City Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky, who spoke on McDonnell's behalf.

Tuesday's election will put either the first woman or the first, elected Jewish leader in the mayor's office. But a more dubious distinction is possible: the lowest turnout for an open mayoral seat.

In a city with more than 2 million eligible voters, roughly 400,000 may cast ballots in this Tuesday's election.  More than 2 million people can vote for mayor of Los Angeles. But if history is a reliable guide, as many as 1.6 million of them will skip Tuesday's election.

Calif Atty Gen candidate, Steve Cooley's 10-point lead vanishes in provisional vote counting to the 'Female Obama,' San Fran D.A. Kamala Harris

L.A. City Attorney, Carmen Trutanich, introduces Atty Gen candidate Steve Cooley, who while ahead in the counting at 11pm on Election Night, declares victory in front of on-air TV news cameras. As the votes were tabulated overnight, Cooley's wide 10% point lead over Democrat opponent, S.F. District Attorney Kamala Harris, dwindled. By the morning, votes for Ms. Harris actually exceeded Mr. Cooley's by 38,000 votes. As of 9am publishing time, Ms. Harris leads, but the race is still too close to call.

If her victory holds, Harris would become the first African American and first woman ever to hold the job of California attorney general. Cooley ran on a strong law-and-order message, while Harris emphasized environmental protection in her campaign. Harris proved to be a prodigious fundraiser, and received campaign help from President Obama in the closing weeks of the campaign. - Anthony York in L.A. Times Blogs

Some political analysts had all but written her off. Harris had failed to secure endorsements from most state criminal justice organizations, they noted. And, as an attractive woman with liberal roots in the Bay Area, the daughter of a Tamil Indian mother and a Jamaican American father, she just didn’t fit the profile of the state’s “top cop.”

"Cooley looks like an Attorney General, and she doesn’t," says California political expert Barbara O’Connor, a Cal State Sacramento professor of communications.

Still, Harris’ campaign successfully launched her onto the national stage as a rising Democratic star.. Should Harris go on to beat Cooley, she will be the first woman, the first African American, South Asian American Attorney General of California.

Obama Traffic Hell this Friday? Maybe Not This Time says the LAist

The White House is not going to announce days ahead what streets President Barack Obama will be using when he comes to town on Friday, but the administration is definitey aware of the anger caused back in August when a 30 minute drive turned into a three hour one. If anything, things shouldn't be as crazy this time. Obama is scheduled to attend a fundraiser for U.S. Senate candidate Barbara Boxer and hold a rally at USC.

"We can't release all the details yet, but it looks like only two streets will be closed between 11:20 (a.m.) and 3 p.m.," LAPD Sgt. Mitzi Grasso told the Daily News. "We've been working with the CHP, Department of Transportation and the U.S. Secret Service to minimize the impact on motorists."

"Our special operations section says it will be a minimal impact on traffic," added LADOT spokesperson Sean Anderson, who said there should be areas where you can cross the street.

Former hippie, "Surfing" Rabbi Nachum Shifren, campaigns today to conserve traditional values in California

There we were, surrounded by insane, screaming Leftist psycho-phants-- this was true danger. "Fascists, Nazis, F...ing teabaggers," you name it, they hurled it at us. One of the indignant Latino activists had misspelled his protest sign!  Ever the teacher, I let him know about his error.

"F...you, you f'---ing Jew. Why don't you go back to Auschwitz and die like the rest of your 6 million brothers?" he bellowed hysterically.  I smiled back.

Are these the "meek", the "innocent", only wanting to come to "work" and make a better life for their families? Here assembled were the Greens, the "peaceniks", the "progressives", wanting only to have one world, one culture, one (humanity?)...sans the United States of America.

He didn't appreciate my being punctilious, when at issue was really the presence of over 20,000,000 illegal aliens in our country.



For anyone that is unfamiliar with this type of riffraff, let him get used to the coming battle that we face in this election year. The pressures will be enormous on us to transform our culture into some sort of polyglot banana republic. Each of us has the duty to fight this oppression and confiscation of the only place on earth where merit and individual freedoms are still what make us the most unique people on earth.

As you turn to your daily activities, far away from the frontal assault of the despots that would plunder and subjugate our nation, remember that I am the only conservative candidate dedicated to defeating multiculturalism, amnest, and Shariah Law in California.
