Mark Levin pays homage to CPAC Christians for opposing Islamo-Marxist antiZionism, & anti-Americanism

The 2024 Conservative Political Action Committee ("CPAC") Convention presented a session radio and Fox News Channel broadcaster, Mark Levin, accompanied by his wife, Julie Strauss-Levin, with a standing ovation.

Mr. Levin expressed his gratitude towards Christians for rejecting what he perceives as the Democratic Party's anti-Judeo-Christian bigotry and Islamo-Marxist ideology. He criticized Democrats for their perceived weakness towards Iran and Hamas, and accused them of being anti-Semitic for supporting the creation of a second state for Palestinians at the expense of Jewish people.

Levin also condemned Palestinian's treatment of the people they kidnapped from an Israeli music festival and defended the Israeli Defense Forces, accusing them of not condoning such acts. He emphasized the importance of the Judeo-Christian belief system in founding the United States and encouraged people to remember the sacrifices made by American soldiers, mostly White Christian men, at Arlington Cemetery
.

Mark & Julie Strauss-Levin, Senior Counsel America First Legal Foundation, interview Prof. Jonathan Dekel-Chen, a Connecticut-born son of a Holocaust survivor. Jonathan immigrated to Israel and resided in Kibbutz Nir Oz, inland from the Gaza Strip. The Hebrew University history professor tells the audience about the experience of Hamas-led Palestinians massacre his son Sagui's family's kibbutz and abduct Sagui, who remains in captivity.

00:00:00 In this section, Jonathan Dekel-Chen, the son of a Holocaust survivor and former resident of Kibbutz Nir Oz in Israel. Jonathan moved to Israel at the age of 18, inspired by the Zionist dream and the idea of living in a cooperative farm community. He served in the Israeli army and raised his four children on the kibbutz, which was located near the border of Gaza. The kibbutz was a highly productive agricultural farm and a paradise, as described by Jonathan. However, on October 7, 1985, while Jonathan was in the United States for a wedding, his kibbutz was attacked by terrorists from Hamas, who kidnapped his two adult children. Jonathan was woken up early by a friend who had seen the news and was devastated by the betrayal of the terrorist organization that had infiltrated their peaceful community.

00:05:00
In this section, Jonathan recounts the harrowing experience of a Hamas terrorist attack during which his ex-wife and their children were kidnapped. The chaos began around 12:30 PM on a day when border tensions were high. His grown son, Sagui, who was also part of the security team, noticed that civilian first responders were no longer responding to calls for help. Jonathan was unable to contact his son and his son's wife, who were seven months pregnant with two young girls. His ex-wife, one of two women from the kibbutz who managed to escape captivity, was taken away with a group of women and children on a stolen tractor. An Israeli Apache helicopter intervened, but friendly fire resulted in the death of a friend.

Jonathan's son, Sagui, had woken up early that morning to work on a pet project and saw a large group of well-armed Hamas terrorists moving through the kibbutz. For two hours, the residents defended their community against the attackers, but they were eventually overwhelmed. Sagi had gone back to his home to ensure his family's safety and was taken captive around 9:30 AM on October 7th. He has not been heard from since.

00:10:00
In this section, Jonathan Israel, shares the harrowing experience of his daughter Avital, experience of the kidnapping of her husband, and other community members by Palestinian Muslim abductors. While some hostages were discovered alive in tunnels under Gaza in late November, 80 people were taken captive, and 40 were murdered on October 7th. Avital's home was destroyed, and her community was looted and burned. She gave birth to a healthy baby girl during this time, but her husband was not present. Jonathan
lost 34 members of his extended family on October 7. He said that day, Hamas won, but Israel and the rest of the world cannot let Hamas win in the long term

Julie urges everyone to visit the website www.BringThemHome.com to learn how they can help and support the families of the hostages. Jonathan expresses his concern that the Israeli government is not prioritizing the lives of the hostages as much as they should and emphasizes the importance of both securing their release and destroying Hamas. .

"The Great Collapse" by Jean-David Benichou

by Jean-David Benichou, President, ElNet France  (Translated from original French)

The decision of the
Court of Cassation sinks the foundations of the French Republic.

The decision that concludes that the murderer of Sarah Halimi, a mother of 3 children, an exemplary citizen, in her sixties, murdered in the greatest violence, because she was Jewish, by a black Muslim, thirty years old, a multi-recidivist, idle, inveterate consumer of cannabis since the age of 16, on the grounds of an acute delirious crisis, alters the founding principles of our country , starting with the principle of equality.

Equality?

This promise that ornate the pediment of our institutions, it is that of the equality of all the citizens in face of the law. Why is this first principle threatened in its foundation? Well, because it is enough to consider a reverse scenario. A black mother, Muslim, exemplary, savagely murdered by a white Catholic in his thirties, often condemned, unemployed, drug addicted since his adolescence and who kills with the cry of "Jesus is our savior, I killed the Evil One". This horrible crime, which would have made millions of French people take to the streets in revolt against racial violence, committed in the name of a perverted faith, a crime with an odious colonial flavor, of a blond man on a brunette, of a Catholic on a Muslim woman, this crime, would it have left the choice to the supreme magistrates , to say that in law, well no, this murderer is not criminally responsible because he was a victim of an acute delirious state at the time of committing the act?

Sarah Halimi  and alleged murderer, Kobili Traore

Everyone will make their own opinion, but it is plausible to believe that in such a case, facing the risk of the nation's conflagration, the judges would not have taken the decision to analyze the law restrictively. They would have, rightly, interpreted the law to make it conform to its essential objective of maintaining peace and civil order and would have said, logically, that the deliberate use of drugs cannot be a mitigating circumstance because it deliberately causes an alteration of the discernment, and that of course, this man must be judged for his crime and condemned by a popular jury.

Freedom?

There is only public freedom because there is an implacable justice that is imposed on all.

The right to life is inseparable from the condemnation of homicide. This was not the case for a long time when the law of the strongest prevailed and the weakest were exterminated.

Murder is even the only reason why the law has long given justice the right to condemn to the death penalty. Its abolition has been replaced by a very long period of deprivation of liberty, sometimes until the death of the condemned.

But when the perpetrator of an established anti-Semitic crime escapes judgment for a reason whose basis is hidden in the meanders of the law's unspoken words, when high magistrates lose themselves in the exegesis of the Letter to the detriment of the Spirit, then we witness the collapse of that other republican looter who bears the name of Freedom.

For how can we prohibit when we no longer sanction? How can we guarantee public liberties if we absolve the most despicable criminals of their responsibility? And above all, if drug use is now a mitigating circumstance, how many retrials can we expect?

Is that Fraternity?

Our country is going through its most serious identity crisis. The 55,000 cathedrals, churches and priorities of France are emptying, while the 3000 mosques are overflowing and the 300 synagogues are depopulating.

Instead, we carry in our hands digital temples that level the culture with stories, destroy the critical spirit, abolish the nuance and atrophy the curiosity. When science becomes a conspiracy and a conspiracy a revealed truth, when belief prevails over knowledge, is it any wonder that this Brotherhood explodes, that a man kills his neighbor because he sees at his place symbols contrary to his own faith, that a hysterical man beheads a professor and that a murderer is declared irresponsible because he was stoned during his crime?

What a tragedy to see the resurgence of obscurantism in the land of enlightenment.

President Emmanuel Macron reacted with celerity. Taking note of the judgment and its unbearable consequences, he asked the Minister of Justice to undertake without delaying a text to reform the legal status of criminal irresponsibility. It should be recalled in this look that on January 8, 2020, Senator Nathalie Goulet had already filed a bill in this sense ...

In the absence of bringing the family of the deceased a reparative trial, may this legislative change bear the name of Sarah Halimi so that we never forget that the ultimate objective of the law is to protect the weak and the minorities by depriving the strong and the majorities of any impunity.

For it is the determining condition for society to live in freedom, equality and fraternity and for the foundation of the Republic to remain solid."

Cal State L.A. students block ticket-holders from Ben Shapiro extending "diversity" to political viewpoints- with officials' complicity

Leftist-students and faculty protestors prevented school and community members from entering a public lecture by author, Ben Shapiro, at Calif State Univ at Los Angeles on Thursday, February 25th.

Organized by club Y.A.F. (Young America's Foundation/ Young Americans for Freedom) Mr. Shapiro's speech was cancelled by College President William Covino, but then begrudgingly permitted at the last minute. Students, accompanied by faculty, assaulted individuals who came to attend the lecture, and protested so violently that the police locked themselves in the auditorium, leaving people on the waiting line to the whims of the aggressive mob.

Campus police declined to get involved and control the mob to protect attendees from harrassment and assault at both the front and rear entrances.
College's actions validate author, Ben Shapiro's premise about liberal intolerance silencing diverse viewpoints

In this 7-minute story, we show what took place among the protestors and attendees outside the locked-out lecture. Mr. Shapiro is the author of (among several books),"Bullies: How the Left's Culture of Fear and Intimidation Silences Americans." Inadvertently, the protesters confirmed his premise.

Ticket-holder, John Minter, attempts to inquire why one of the protesters assaulted him in the theater lobby- and on camera, he confronts both Mr. Minter and the cameraman. When we approached the group of police gathered down the stairs, they refuse to intercede between the aggressors and the attendees that the students harrassed. Amy Lutz of Young America Foundation explains her understanding that the police's directions came from the college President's office.

At gravesite ceremony on Yom ha Zikaron, widow of Jewish Defense League's father & son, Irv & Ari Rubin, alleges gov't conspires to condemn Jews to rationalize the Islamist influence they're forced to tolerate

Chairwoman of the Jewish Defense League, Shelly Rubin speaks at the unveilings of her son, Ari and Uncle Arthur' s tombstones in Sylmar, California on May 4th, 2014.

Mourning before the gravesites of her husband, Irv, son Ari, Mrs. Rubin reveals who killed Irv Rubin- and alleges Jewish communal cowardice in failing to vindicate the arrest and in-govt-custody -deaths of Irv Rubin and co-defendant, Earl Krugel.

Mrs. Rubin believes that the same Jewish complacency in this and in failing to effectively press for clemency to the over-sentenced Jonathan Pollard fails to deter further persecution of Jews, signaling that Jews are further easy targets for relativizing government officials's sucking-up to Arab-money-influenced government tolerance of Islamist supremacism in Western societies.

"Never Again" means vigilance towards defeating, not appeasing, Jihadism against Judeo-Christianity

The lesson we must recognize and adapt to, this Holocaust & Heroism Remembrance Week 2014.

In the Sultan Knish blog essay, "Never Again," Daniel Greenfield puts into clear terms the big-picture of the west's sacrificing of the Jewish state in hopes of appeasing, rather than thwarting, global Islamism- and the need for Jews to understand and defeat this movement against them.

"When the Jews who fought among the crumbling walls of the Warsaw Ghetto finally made it to Israel, they came just in time to load up their guns and fight once again for their people's survival. The survivors of one genocidal ideology bent on making someone pay for its sense of humiliation came just in time to fight off another version of the same thing.

Holocaust survivor, Jonah Goldrich, facilitates annual Holocaust-lessons gathering in L.A. park

"After 2000 years of running, an indigenous minority that had been kicked around by emperors and caliphs finally made its stand around a handful of farming towns and in alleyways lined by the golden stone of Jerusalem. Men and women who only a few years earlier hid in their homes from Muslim pogroms, covering their children's ears at the cries of "Ibtach Al Yahood", "Kill the Jews", took up arms. They stood alongside the settlers who had drained the swamps, the refugees fleeing Muslim terror in Egypt and Syria and the remains of the original indigenous Jewish population which had survived the conquests of seven empires. They stood and fought for their lives against an ideology that said they had no right to be free because of their religion and the blood in their veins.

Randall Schoenberg, LA Holocaust Museum President, on 2014 memorial ceremony

"Like their Nazi allies, Muslim violence was driven by a need to reverse the humiliations of World War I which dismantled the Ottoman Empire and gave regional minorities like the Jews a chance at rebuilding their own independent countries. But going back to 1914 was only the beginning. Some wanted to go back to 1492 and the fall of Granada. Others in the Saudi desert were dreaming of a return to the 6th century. But what they all had in common was a refusal to tolerate an independent non-Muslim state in their midst.

Jewish Daily Forward editor, J.J. Goldberg

"...So long as the world community accepts the inevitability of Islamic dominance, then Israel will always be the goat. The sacrifice to appease the beast.

If Never Again means anything at all, it is a refusal to be the sacrifice, to be placed on the altar of appeasement for a Holocaust, a burnt offering, to the Muslim Moloch of insatiable rage and genocidal fanaticism."  Read Daniel Greenfield's full article, "Never Again."

Kansas City killer rose to KKK power scapegoating Jews; Unwittingly murdered 3 generations of white Christians

Kansas shooting suspect has history of racist violence

Ex-KKK white supremacist Frazier Glenn Miller was also involved in 1984 murder of Jewish talk show host.

The 73-year-old suspect, a former member of the Ku Klux Klan and white supremacist candidate for political office, has a long history of anti-Semitic violence and hate crimes, including involvement in at least one other murder.
Frasier Glenn Miller, who also goes by the alias Fraiser Glenn Cross Jr., founded the North Carolina-based White Patriot Party, an offshoot of the Ku Klux Klan, in 1980. In 1984 he ran in North Carolina’s Democratic primary for the governorship, garnering 5,790 votes – 0.61% of the total votes cast. He later attempted in 1986 to run in the North Carolina Republic primary for a Senate seat.

Miller was also involved in more violent activism. In 1984, while he ran for office in North Carolina, he and other members of a racist hate group that called itself “The Order” were accused of murdering liberal Jewish talk show host Alan Berg in Denver, Colorado.

"I try to work for the interests of white people," Ku Klux Klansman, Frasier Glenn Miller told Howard Stern in this 2010 Sirius radio interview.

(Audio/Video: MrQualmst)

Stern asked Miller whom he hated more, Jews or African-Americans, to which he responded, “Jews - a thousand-times more!  Compared to our Jewish problem, all other problems are mere distractions."

As for God choosing the Jews to represent his stake in the world, Miller said, "How odd of God to choose the rats!"  He considers Jews "parasites," accuses Jews of being more loyal to Israel than to America, and claims that white men came to North America 14 or 14,000 years ago.

"The Whistle-Blower Who Freed Dreyfus"- died 100 years ago today- from Robert Harris in The N.Y. Times

Unlike his 21st-century counterparts Bradley Manning and Edward Snowden, Picquart was neither a disaffected nor a junior figure in the organization he was to expose. On the contrary: In October 1894 he was a brilliant, rising army officer. One of his steppingstones to advancement had been a professorship at the École Supérieure de Guerre, and one of the officer-cadets he had taught there was a Jewish artillery captain, Alfred Dreyfus.

KINTBURY, England — Georges Picquart died 100 years ago this Saturday. To which the response from most quarters is likely to be “Georges who?” Even in his native France, his centenary is passing largely unremarked. Yet in the days of Queen Victoria and Theodore Roosevelt, Picquart was a figure of global controversy, revered and reviled in equal measure as the world’s most famous whistle-blower.
Picquart, like many of his contemporaries, was casually anti-Semitic. It came as no surprise to him when Dreyfus — the only Jew on the general staff — was suspected of passing secret intelligence to the Germans. It was Picquart who provided a sample of Dreyfus’s handwriting to the investigators. And when expert analysis seemed to confirm Dreyfus’s guilt, it was Picquart who met his unsuspecting former pupil in the Ministry of War so he could be quietly bundled off to prison.

Al Gore's sale of CurrentTV channel to petro-political, Al Jazeera, met with protest in Hollywood by public-interest group, Rage Against The Media

Consumer-activist group urges Americans to switch service away from pay TV companies who bring the Qatari-funded Al Jazeera channel into American households. Group will protest leftist bias outside CNN Hollywood on Saturday, Feb 16th.

Rage Against the Media put on a demonstration outside an L.A. appearance of Al Gore to discuss his new book, The Future. Rage was protesting the former Democrat presidential candidate's complicity in providing Al Jazeera full-time channel carriage into American households through selling his liberal current affairs channel, Current TV, to the the Qatari monarchy for an American version of Al Jazeera.

Rage protested the professed-environmentalist, Mr. Gore's facilitating the advocacy of Persian Gulf, petrol interests via Al Jazeera's biases. The group was also concerned about the oil-sheikh-owned channel influencing American foreign policy- and molifying social more's against political Islamism molifying society against Islamization and anti-Semitism- as has occurred in a number of European societies, such as France and Belgium.

The Blaze has more details about the shariah-influenced, Al Jazeera's acquisition of the liberal, environmentally-conscious Current TV.

Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting in America ("CAMERA") director,  Ms. Andrea Levin cited for USA Today, a specific example when speaking of one of Al Jazeera Arabic's most popular programs-  called “Sharia and Life.”

…hosted by Sheik Yusuf al-Qaradawi, a former “spiritual guide” of the Muslim Brotherhood. Al-Qaradawi has called for conversion of Europe and North America to Islam and a Muslim-led genocide of Israel and the Jews.
Earlier this January, TheBlaze covered Al-Qaradawi and his ties to the Muslim Brotherhood and Al Jazeera.

A representative for Al Jazeera told Reuters that nine operators will carry the new channel, the largest being Comcast, DirecTV, Dish, ATandT, and Verizon. Time Warner, who carries Current, is taking a wait and see approach for the time being.

Organizer of Rage Against the Media, Karen Siegemund, appealed to the lecture attendees and the TV viewing public to contact their pay TV company and encourage them to not bring Al Jazeera into their households, or risk cancellation of their account.

Chuck Hagel nomination- Obama's latest volley to vilify counter-Islamists

Is the Obama Administration working to marginalize  Zionistic Americans as "unpatriotic" or "unreasonable?"

Jennifer Rubin in the Washington Post explores Was Chuck Hagel nominated out of spite?  2/15/13
... What is unprecedented is to appoint a high national security official because the president is peeved about someone else.
Politico reports: The president feels personally invested in the nomination of Hagel. The Nebraska Republican is one of the few politicians he’s truly friendly with, and Obama plans to see the fight through, barring some major unforeseen development.
Democrats close to the White House say the typically cool-headed Obama has expressed flashes of real anger at what he sees as a politically motivated GOP fishing expedition that already netted his first choice for secretary of state — U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Susan Rice.
Obama — ticked off by Rice’s treatment and still emboldened by his convincing victory over Mitt Romney — courted confrontation when he tapped Hagel.  If true, this is outlandish. The president would imperil national security out of spite?
Mike Lumish's message, "American Jews need to Stand Up" in the Times of Israel's Ops and Blogs Section today augments Ms. Rubin's points:

"Jonathan Tobin has a piece, "Jewish Groups Must End Silence on Hagel" up at Commentary that concludes as follows:
The great irony, of course, is that while Hagel complains about the malicious power of the “Jewish lobby” Jewish organizations, with the notable exception of the Zionist Organization of America, have been almost entirely quiet regarding this toxic nomination of an unqualified bigot for the post of Secretary of Defense.  The western progressive-left tends to think that the “Jewish lobby” or the “Israel lobby” or AIPAC, or perhaps just the Jews as a whole, have a strangle-hold over the United States government.
We don’t.
It is a lie - and when influential people such as former Senator Chuck Hagel promote that lie they are spreading an ideological cancer of the sort that can have exceedingly dangerous consequences.  This is precisely the kind of thing that most American Jewish organizations were created to oppose and, yet, they are silent.  Jewish Democrats today, in the various pro-Israel / pro-Jewish non-profit organizations, seem incapable of mustering the fortitude to stand up to president Barack Obama.  By failing to do so they offer cover to Jewish congressional politicians, such as Chuck Schumer or Dianne Feinstein, who themselves remain supine before this president.
By refusing to accept the Hagel nomination without some further inquiry, the Republican Party has offered Jewish groups a golden opportunity to stand up for the best interests of the Jewish people, not to mention the best interests of the American people, through loudly and strongly and insistently opposing this nomination.
If the state of Israel means anything, it means Jewish people standing up for themselves in their own defense.  It means the resurrection not just of Jewish autonomy on traditionally Jewish land, but the resurrection of the Hebrew language and the creating and nurturing of Jewish culture in the arts and cinema and literature.  What the Israelis have created is, in fact, nothing short of a miracle because they have done something never before seen in the history of the planet.  They resurrected the national life of a people that wandered the earth, lost and desolate for two thousand years.
If Israeli Jews can do that, why cannot American Jews grow a spine and stand up for themselves?  AIPAC knows that Hagel is a potential nightmare, so why must they remain silent?  What good are they if they will not fight the very fights that they were created for to begin with?  I understand that it is counterproductive to fight battles that one is doomed to lose, but we are not doomed to lose this one if we would kindly show a little muscle and a little self-respect.
(Robert Kunst of Shalom Int'l outside the AIPAC Policy Conference in Washington, DC)
Hagel is bad news and the world-wide Jewish community knows it, but the world-wide Jewish community has no say in who Congress affirms as the Secretary of Defense of the United States.  But Jewish Americans do have a say and if we fail to make our voices heard in opposition to a clear and present danger than we let down the Jewish people as a whole.
Something like 80 percent of American Jews, including me, voted for Barack Obama during his first election for the presidency in 2008.  Something like 69 percent, without me, voted for Barack Obama during his second election for the presidency last year.  Immediately upon securing his second term in office president Obama turned around and thanked his Jewish supporters with a nice smack in the head with this Hagel nomination.
I say that it is time to stand up… long past time, actually."
Pres. Obama has again turned down Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu's offer to meet during his visit to Washington during the first week of March. Obama opts instead to meet with Netanyahu in Jerusalem. LatmaTV parodies Obama's intentions in planning his March trip to the Mid-East.

NYC Mayor Ed Koch dies on Daniel Pearl's yahrzeit- revives concern about democracy's needed vigilance against Islamism

NYC Mayor Ed Koch (Photo: NY Daily News)
ED KOCH, the voluble three-term mayor who helped bring New York back from the brink of fiscal ruin in the 1970s and came to embody the city with his wry, outspoken style, has died at the age of 88 of heart failure in NYC.

As mayor from 1978 to 1989, the forceful, quick-witted Koch, with his trademark phrase "How'm I Doin?," was a natural showman and tireless promoter of both himself and the city.

New York writer Pete Hamill said in a 2005 discussion of Koch's legacy, "Here was a mayor who was a combination of a Lindy's waiter, a Coney Island barker, a Catskill comedian, an irritated school principal and an eccentric uncle.  He talked tough and the reason was, he was tough."

In The Algemeiner, Dovid Efune says:
Mayor Ed Koch (Courtesy: Vanity Fair)
It was only three weeks ago when he (Mayor Koch) told me in an interview that he felt President Obama had betrayed Israel with his nomination of Chuck Hagel. “Frankly, I thought that there would come a time when he would renege on what he conveyed on his support of Israel,” Koch said, adding, “it comes a little earlier than I thought it would.”

We published Koch’s articles nearly every week, and it was clear to me, just by the sheer volume of those which focused on Israel, that the Jewish State, and his Jewishness for that matter, were topics that were very close to his heart.

“Why would you expect Israel to cooperate in its intended lynching?” he asked recently in a passionate letter to British Prime Minister David Cameron. He viciously defended Israel’s right to self defense and called out those who displayed hypocrisy in their dealings with Israel on a regular basis.

“I’m of the belief that the leaders of the Jewish community have to do more to make Jews aware, young Jews aware, of the importance of Israel,” he told me in another interview late last year.

It is therefore noteworthy and fitting to point out that besides the ‘Hear o Israel’ prayer, the only other quote that Koch has engraved on his tombstone is the final statement of Daniel Pearl, the Jewish journalist who was kidnapped and beheaded while in Pakistan investigating Al Qaeda back in 2002.

“My father is Jewish. My mother is Jewish. I am Jewish,” reads the defiant etching, attributed to “(Daniel Pearl 2002, just before he was beheaded by a Muslim terrorist.)”
Koch explained that “the sense of justice that Judaism teaches” was the reason he elected to have the words “He was fiercely proud of his Jewish faith,” etched on the gravestone he prepared for himself. ...
How befitting that the day of his passing, Feb 1st 2013 comes 11 years to the day after the brutal murder of Daniel Pearl, that icon of Jewish pride. They will forever share a yahrzeit, and in many ways a legacy."
That Mayor Koch died on Daniel Pearl's yahrzeit draws deserved attention to Pearl's legacy- and the Islamic supremacism which so threatens the West and Judaism.

The late Christopher Hitchens was honored to present the 2010 Daniel Pearl Memorial Lecture at UCLA.  He consoled Daniel's surviving parents Judea and Ruth Pearl from the last scene of Shakespeare's Macbeth, "Your son, my lord, has paid a soldier's debt.  He only lived until he was a man that which no sooner had his prowess confirmed.  In the unshrinking station where he stood.  But, like a man, he died.  Your cause of grief must not be measured by his worth, for then it hath no end."

Mr. Hitchens then warned about anti-Semitism- particularly within Islam- as the precursor warning of fascism and tyranny.
"Because anti-Semitism is the godfather of racism and the gateway to tyranny, fascism and war, it is to be regarded not as the enemy of the Jewish people alone, but as the common enemy of humanity and of civilization- and has to fought against very tenaciously for that reason, most especially in its current, most virulent form of Islamic Jihad.

Daniel Pearl's revolting murderer was educated at the London School of Economics. Our Christmas bomber over Detroit was from a neighboring London college - the chair of the Islamic Students' Society. Many pogroms against Jewish people have been reported from all over Europe, today as I'm talking. And we can only expect this to get worse. And we must make sure that our own defenses are not neglected.

Our task is to call this filthy thing, this plague, this pest, by its right name. To make unceasing resistance to it. Knowing all the time that it's probably ultimately ineradicable, and bearing in mind that its hatred towards us is a compliment, and resolving, some of the time (at any rate) to do a bit more to deserve it!"

Mayor Koch's public service  is remembered in this WABC TV News obituary:

In an interview conducted in 2007, Former Mayor Edward I. Koch reflected on his life and political career, and talked of how he would like to be remembered.

Asked by reporter Tim Weiner: "How do you want to be remembered?" Mayor Koch replied, "I want to be remembered as being a proud Jew who loved the people of the City of New York. And did his best to make their lives better."

A documentary about his life opened just prior to his demise.  Glenn Whipp writes in the L.A. Times:

Former New York City Mayor Ed Koch died the same day a new documentary about his life and legacy opened in New York.

"Koch," which will open in Southern California theaters beginning March 1, offers evidence that the combative mayor had mellowed little in his later years. Filmmaker Neil Barsky conducted extensive interviews with Koch in his Manhattan apartment in 2010 and early 2011, where the former mayor, who ruled New York from 1978 to 1989, spoke of his controversial time in office, offering no restrictions on subject matter or time.

Israeli Amb. Michael Oren fortifies the American Zionism that Obama scapegoats for the opposition to his cabinet nominees

Only days before the U.S. re-inaugurates Obama for a second 4-year term, and a week before Israelis vote to elect a government to replace the ruling one Benjamin Netanyahu formed in 2009, Israel's Ambassador to the U.S. Michael Oren appeared before a packed L.A. theater house to shore-up core support for the bilateral relationship between America and her greatest Mid-East ally, Israel.  Pres. Barack Obama has been criticized for meddling to damage Netanyahu's Likud Beitenu party re-election.

Over the course of his term, for U.S. government leadership roles which deal with Islamism and Zionism,  Pres. Barack Obama has nominated candidates with strong pro-Islam, pro-Palestine, (and, in some cases, anti-Zionist) worldviews- starting  in 2009 with Chas Freeman (not approved) and Samantha Power (approved).  The issue has been revived with Congressional opposition to Obama's nomination of U.N. Amb. Susan Rice for Secretary of State recently.  The Obama Administration has endeavored to scapegoat supporters of Israel as a disloyal, fifth-column impediment to the approval of his philo-Muslim, cabinet nominees-  Chuck Hagel for Secretary of Defense,  John Brennan for Director of the C.I.A., and Sen. John Kerry for Secretary of State.

While Obama's Administration works to demonize those who support Israel, Amb. Michael Oren (who has taught history at Harvard, Yale, and Georgetown Universities) appeared in Los Angeles to boost the morale and dedication for support for Israel.  In his 3rd year of making history as Israel's U.S.-based, chief diplomat, the 1979- American-emigrant to Israel reminded the Saban Theater audience about the long-standing commonalities between America's founding fathers and the re-establishment of Jewish Israel, their respective countries' biblical guiding principals, and their common dedication to freedom and democracy.  In this half-hour talk, video-chronicled by DemoCast, Amb. Oren addresses the historic reciprocal support among Americans and Israelis.

Mr. Richard Sandler, chairman of the board of the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles, who along with the Israeli Consulate to the Southwestern U.S., co- sponsored the event, introduces Amb. Oren to a standing ovation from the Saban Theater audience.

Amb. Oren talks about the history of Zionism in the establishment of America - and America's contribution to the establishment of Israel.   Amb. Oren also reminds the audience of Israel's affinities for America- as the only country in the Middle East with statue memorials to Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr., and the victims of September 11, 2001 attacks.

Amb. Oren followed his speech with this revealing, wide-ranging interview with TV journalist and anchorman of Good Day L.A., Steve Edwards, of Channel 11- KTTV.

Here is a cameraphone video of the West Point Choir joining the IDF Choir in singing the Israeli National Anthem, Hatikvah ("The Hope") which Amb. Oren referenced in his remarks.

The Israeli newspaper, Makor Rishon, has reported that Amb. Oren has requested to end his tenure in the spring of 2013, when he will have completed 4-years.   The newspaper reports that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu favors his political adviser, Ron Dermer, to succeed Michael Oren in the U.S.   Mr. Dermer co-authored the book, “The Case for Democracy: The Power of Freedom to Overcome Tyranny and Terror’’ along with former Soviet dissident and Israeli politician Natan Sharansky.
