In a recent report appearing in the UK-based Telegraph, both Qatar and Kuwait were singled out for openly, and even avidly, aiding fundraising efforts for Islamic State/ISIS terrorists who are currently engaged in fierce clashes with the Syrian army alongside Israel on the Golan Heights. Qatar and Turkey are accused of taking over as the main foreign patrons for Hamas after Iran and the Sunni organization had a falling out three years ago - over its support for rebel fighters seeking to dislodge Tehran's ally, Bashar al-Assad in Syria. An attack by suspected militants from the Boko Haram Islamist group left at least 400 people dead in three villages in northeastern Nigeria, according to local officials. (Bloomberg News, June 4)

 Kano, Nigeria (CNN) -- Scores of residents in four villages in the northeastern Borno state of Nigeria, near the border with Cameroon, were killed Tuesday in Boko Haram raids, a lawmaker and residents said.

They said hundreds of homes were destroyed.

Heavily armed gunmen dressed as soldiers in all-terrain vehicles and on motorcycles attacked Goshe, Attagara, Agapalwa and Aganjara villages in Gwoza district, shooting residents and burning homes.

Villagers fled into neighboring Cameroon to escape the onslaughts, said Peter Biye, a lawmaker from the area who serves in the Nigerian lower parliament.

No sign of Nigerian violence slowing

"We are still trying to compile a toll of the dead as people on the ground are still counting the number of casualties," said Biye.

Residents of these villages fled their homes while soldiers have deployed in the area to fight the Islamists who have taken control of at least seven villages, the lawmaker said.

On Wednesday, military jets carried out aerial bombardment on Boko Haram positions in the affected area to dislodge the insurgents, he said.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu bluntly warned world leaders not to be taken in by Iran's beneficent overtures in an address to the United Nations Tuesday. His bellicose speech stood in sharp contrast to a week of conciliatory words and optimism about US-Iranian rapprochement, and has weighed on US efforts to sustain the sense of hope that pervaded the UN last week.

"I want there to be no confusion on this point. Israel will not allow Iran to get nuclear weapons," Netanyahu said in the address. "If Israel is forced to stand alone, Israel will stand alone."

'Don't blame the West for holy war to conquer world under Islam' say experts and scholars

The 'root causes' of Islamist terrorism do not lie in poverty or western imperialism, but an age old conflict between reason and revelation.

As political theorist Barry Cooper argues in his book, New Political Religions, or, An Analysis of Modern Terrorism, the Islamists, like the Nazis and Communists, are motivated more by a "disease of the spirit" than materialist aspirations.

... They imagine Islam spreading across the globe and the establishment of a worldwide caliphate based on shariah law. They see themselves empowered by Allah to bring about this new world order by destroying a civilization they regard as spiritually empty. Thus, Islamism constitutes a political religion of apocalyptic proportions.

They ultimately seek the transformation of the West to accommodate Islam. Chandra Muzaffar, a widely respected Malaysian Islamic scholar, writing in a 2006 book, The New Voices of Islam, captures this spiritual aspiration: "Islam and the post-Enlightenment secular West are diametrically opposed to one another.  Muslims will then realize that unless they transform the secular world of the West, that vision of justice embodied in the Koran will never become a reality."

The challenge for Islamists, obviously, is whether they can achieve that transformation better through demographic domination over the next few decades or through violence.

The challenge for Westerners, perhaps not so obviously, is whether they will awaken in time from their multicultural slumbers to protect their cultural heritage and avoid, possibly, a new dark age.

Lebanese-born, Islamist whistleblower, Kamal Saleem , author of "The Blood of Lambs," reveals the genuine threat that political Islamism presents. Gang of Palestinian-demonstrators rampages through Jewish neighborhood in London

A gang of pro-Palestinian demonstrators rampaged through the heart of the Jewish community on Wednesday evening, attacking businesses and assaulting a motorist.

The group of around 15 men had been demonstrating in support of Palestinians in Gaza but then made their way along Golders Green Road, attacking the man as he got into his car.

They attempted to gain access to a number of kosher restaurants and Jewish businesses, and at one point entered Solly’s restaurant, but were thrown out by staff and diners.

A Community Security Trust spokesman said: “The gang-related incident in Golders Green is extremely troubling.

“The idea that events in the Middle East can trigger this kind of rampage is something that the community, police and politicians need to now consider with the utmost urgency."  (London's Jewish Chronicle)

An international conference like no other was held in Jerusalem Sunday. The conference, called Facing Jihad, organized by MK Aryeh Eldad, dealt with the current world wide threat posed by Islamic holy war, Jihad, and what can be done about it. Dutch MP Geert Wilders was also present, and the attendees watched a screening of his famous short film, Fitna.

”Islam is an ideology,” Wilders told Israel National News. “It rules everything, not only from birth to death but everything in between, everything in the life. So I believe Islam should not be compared with Judaism or Christianity, but with other totalitarian ideologies like communism or fascism. This what we are dealing with.”

Wilders added: “Your fight against Jihad is our fight against Jihad. It’s not a territorial conflict. It’s an ideological conflict.”
