Obama activated military & spies to deter Israeli strike against Iran's nuclear weapons development

Breitbart reports:  Instead of supporting Israel in a planned raid against Iran’s nuclear program, the Obama administration utilized the nation’s premier espionage resources to engage the regime in Tehran and keep Jerusalem in the dark, a Wall Street Journal report recounted.
“Nerves frayed at the White House after senior officials learned Israeli aircraft had flown in and out of Iran in what some believed was a dry run for a commando raid on the site,” the report said, explaining that Israel’s activities in 2012 led to a “mutual distrust” that created a divide between the Obama White House and Benjamin Netanyahu’s Israel.

Spy vs. Spy: Inside the Fraying U.S.-Israel Ties  Distrust set allies to snoop on each other after split over Iran nuclear deal; each kept secrets

The U.S. closely monitored Israel’s military bases and eavesdropped on secret communications in 2012, fearing its longtime ally might try to carry out a strike on Fordow, Iran’s most heavily fortified nuclear facility.

Nerves frayed at the White House after senior officials learned Israeli aircraft had flown in and out of Iran in what some believed was a dry run for a commando raid on the site. Worried that Israel might ignite a regional war, the White House sent a second aircraft carrier to the region and readied attack aircraft, a senior U.S. official said, “in case all hell broke loose.”

The two countries, nursing a mutual distrust, each had something to hide. U.S. officials hoped to restrain Israel long enough to advance negotiations on a nuclear deal with Iran that the U.S. had launched in secret. U.S. officials saw Israel’s strike preparations as an attempt to usurp American foreign policy.

If Obama’s Syria Promises Mean Nothing, How Can We Trust Him on Iran?

Syrian chemical attack victim (Photo: The Times London)
Jonathan Tobin writes in Commentary:
With even ardent Obama supporters like Jeffrey Goldberg reminding the president he has made it crystal clear that chemical weapons use would be a red line that would trigger a strong U.S. response, what follows will not only tell us whether that promise would be kept. It will also illustrate just how seriously to take other pledges the administration has made, specifically its vow never to allow Iran to go nuclear.
With the White House desperately trying to buy time before making a decision on Syria, it’s fair to ask why anyone should regard American rhetoric on Iran as anything more than an elaborate bluff if Obama won’t keep his word about Assad’s behavior.

Israeli Amb. Michael Oren fortifies the American Zionism that Obama scapegoats for the opposition to his cabinet nominees

Only days before the U.S. re-inaugurates Obama for a second 4-year term, and a week before Israelis vote to elect a government to replace the ruling one Benjamin Netanyahu formed in 2009, Israel's Ambassador to the U.S. Michael Oren appeared before a packed L.A. theater house to shore-up core support for the bilateral relationship between America and her greatest Mid-East ally, Israel.  Pres. Barack Obama has been criticized for meddling to damage Netanyahu's Likud Beitenu party re-election.

Over the course of his term, for U.S. government leadership roles which deal with Islamism and Zionism,  Pres. Barack Obama has nominated candidates with strong pro-Islam, pro-Palestine, (and, in some cases, anti-Zionist) worldviews- starting  in 2009 with Chas Freeman (not approved) and Samantha Power (approved).  The issue has been revived with Congressional opposition to Obama's nomination of U.N. Amb. Susan Rice for Secretary of State recently.  The Obama Administration has endeavored to scapegoat supporters of Israel as a disloyal, fifth-column impediment to the approval of his philo-Muslim, cabinet nominees-  Chuck Hagel for Secretary of Defense,  John Brennan for Director of the C.I.A., and Sen. John Kerry for Secretary of State.

While Obama's Administration works to demonize those who support Israel, Amb. Michael Oren (who has taught history at Harvard, Yale, and Georgetown Universities) appeared in Los Angeles to boost the morale and dedication for support for Israel.  In his 3rd year of making history as Israel's U.S.-based, chief diplomat, the 1979- American-emigrant to Israel reminded the Saban Theater audience about the long-standing commonalities between America's founding fathers and the re-establishment of Jewish Israel, their respective countries' biblical guiding principals, and their common dedication to freedom and democracy.  In this half-hour talk, video-chronicled by DemoCast, Amb. Oren addresses the historic reciprocal support among Americans and Israelis.

Mr. Richard Sandler, chairman of the board of the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles, who along with the Israeli Consulate to the Southwestern U.S., co- sponsored the event, introduces Amb. Oren to a standing ovation from the Saban Theater audience.

Amb. Oren talks about the history of Zionism in the establishment of America - and America's contribution to the establishment of Israel.   Amb. Oren also reminds the audience of Israel's affinities for America- as the only country in the Middle East with statue memorials to Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr., and the victims of September 11, 2001 attacks.

Amb. Oren followed his speech with this revealing, wide-ranging interview with TV journalist and anchorman of Good Day L.A., Steve Edwards, of Channel 11- KTTV.

Here is a cameraphone video of the West Point Choir joining the IDF Choir in singing the Israeli National Anthem, Hatikvah ("The Hope") which Amb. Oren referenced in his remarks.

The Israeli newspaper, Makor Rishon, has reported that Amb. Oren has requested to end his tenure in the spring of 2013, when he will have completed 4-years.   The newspaper reports that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu favors his political adviser, Ron Dermer, to succeed Michael Oren in the U.S.   Mr. Dermer co-authored the book, “The Case for Democracy: The Power of Freedom to Overcome Tyranny and Terror’’ along with former Soviet dissident and Israeli politician Natan Sharansky.

'Only a strong Israeli-American alliance keeps the Jihad from dominating the middle-east & the world'- Caroline Glick video analysis

While Muslim Arab/Iran oil-barons buy influence among American lobbists, policy-makers and the media to shift US support towards Muslims and away from Israel (and sacrifice Palestinians for PR-value for demonizing Israel) - lucid strategic analyst, Caroline Glick explains (in this video) how keeping a strong Israel keeps Jihad from destablizing the Middle-East, and the world.  (Courtesy Center for Security Policy)

Global thinker, George Gilder: 'Every modern individual has a personal stake in protecting Israel's safety'

'It is in the vital self-interest of all Americans to protect Israel - an extension of Silicon Valley and human progress,' attests economist and futurist George Gilder. The microchips of yesterday, today, and tomorrow, so many of which are designed at Intel Corp's design center in Israel is just one of many examples of how vital keeping Israel stable is to the condition of our world.

Mr. Gilder, author of "The Israel Test," elucidates how being an ally to Israel benefits the human condition - via medical research & cures, communications technology, security intelligence, and economic stability. Filmed at Los Angeles' Sinai Temple; interviewed by Rabbi David Wolpe; question and answer period led by AIPAC Southern Pacific Region's Elliot Brandt, concluded by American Freedom Alliance's Avi Davis.  Mr. Gilder emphasizes civilization's interest in safeguarding Israel from delegitimization from political and economic rivals, and the Obama Administration's mid-east policies.

Islamists & their advocates re-directing US security, policy on Iran, Israel, and Middle-East

Islamist-regime advocates are infiltrating Washington through the Obama Administration and are undermining U.S. security policy, former counter-Communist intelligence expert, Prof. Clare Lopez cautions.

In "Rise of the Iran Lobby", a white-paper which she published earlier this year through the Center for Security Policy, Ms. Lopez illustrated how a network which includes well-known American diplomats, congressional representatives, figures from academia and the think tank world - with ties to the clerical regime in Tehran - would be co-opting America's foreign policy in the Middle East, and specifically towards the dangerous Islamic Republic of Iran.

It is imperative to recognize the role being played by what amount to their (CAIR, NIAC) interlocking (or at least overlapping) boards of directors, donations from the same foundations and growing access to some key members of Congress and top levels of US policymaking circles. Of special concern is the growing penetration of the Obama Administration by a number of individuals with such associations.

To be sure, efforts at influencing U.S. decision-making are common among a host of legitimate interest roups, including many foreign countries. But in this context, where the guiding force behind such influence operations emanate from the senior-most levels of a regime like Iran’s – which holds the top spot on the State Department list of state-sponsors of terror, makes no secret of its hatred and enmity for the United States and its ally, Israel, and acts in myriad ways to support those who have assassinated, held hostage, kidnapped, killed and tortured American civilians and military personnel over a 30-year period – such operations must be viewed with serious concern.

Specifically, the de facto alliance between CAIR, one of the Muslim Brotherhood affiliates named by the U.S. Department of Justice as an unindicted co- conspirator in the 2007 and 2008 Holy Land Foundation trials, and groups such as NIAC and its predecessor, the American-Iranian Council (AIC), which long have functioned openly as apologists for the Iranian regime, must arouse deep concern that U.S. national security policy is being successfully targeted by Jihadist entities hostile to American interests.
Today, the former counter-Communist CIA agent's predictions are manifesting visibly. The State Department's chief Iran chair, Dennis Ross, has been replaced by a close supporter of the mullah regime, John Limbert. Ed Lasky at American Thinker wonders who is directing these changes:
The controversy regarding the National Iranian American Council (NIAC) - whether it violated US law by not registering as a lobbying group, whether it's views are too closely aligned with those of Tehran, whether it is too close to George Soros, and the problematic views of its founder and head, Trita Parsi - has raged over the last week or so.

One of the most startling developments was produced by a discovery motion that took place as a result of a defamation suit the NIAC filed against one if its critics.

This was a plan to maneuver Dennis Ross out of the Iran chair at the State Department because the NIAC thought he would not as supportive of outreach towards Iran as the NIAC. The NIAC got its wish and then some. Not only was Ross pushed out and into the netherworld of the National Security Council (where he has not been heard of since) but he was replaced by John Limbert, who serves on the Advisory Council of the NIAC itself.

Who did the dirty deed of dumping Dennis?  ...
All these positions echo those of the National Iranian American Council and certainly comport with the wishes of the Tehran regime. Former Congressman Lee Hamilton's speeches regarding Iran were so highly thought of by the NIAC that the group posted reports of them on its website. The NIAC approved of the Iraq Study Group (the Baker-Hamilton product) report that advocated engagement and working with Iran, and downplayed the value of sanctions.

(Hamilton also wrote a positive
blurb for a book that glowing depicted the Iranian-supported Hezbollah terror group ).
Ms. Clare Lopez' "Rise of the Iran Lobby" is proving to be prophetic - and therefore deserves a fair reading - and heeding.

Americans demonstrate solidarity for Israel - civilization's sanctuary in the Middle-East

Hundreds of thousands of Americans made a public display of their support for the Zionist (i.e., Jewish national refuge) State of Israel on Sunday, the 31st of May 2009 up New York's Fifth Avenue.

Given the displays of anti-Israelism and anti-Zionism so pervasive in anti-war, far-leftist, and pro-Palestinian demonstrations, this parade provides a breath of "miner's canary" air - of a climate that permits safe display staging of such a public demonstration of Judaism and pro-Zionism.

Our on-location video reportage of the Salute to Israel 2008 Parade reveals the strength and diversity of Americans supporting the Jewish national homeland.

The parade provides an insight into the true core values of Jewish and Israeli culture - and its struggle to maintain its identity under fire from antagonists.

Also, watch the parade's history and the behind the scenes look:

New York's Jewry comprises the largest Jewish population of this embattled people outside of Israel. Given (the only sanctuary for minorities' rights in the Middle East) Israel's significance at the vanguard against global Jihad - a terrorizing campaign which NY'ers know first-hand, broadcast TV stations deny public audiences equivalent televised coverage of the Israel Parade that they gladly provide to the Irish St. Patrick's Day or even the Puerto Rican Day parades.

The history re-writing far-left and Islamist jihadists (led by Jewish convert to Islam, Yousef al Khattab - publisher of an online guide to terror-attack the Chabad Lubavitch World Headquarters) repugnantly propagandized in full force for photo-journalists and their anti-Zionist blogosphere.

MSMedia hides Islamist identity & motives of Mumbai attackers against Westerners & Jews

Election of Obama fails to appease jihadist quest for Muslim domination (and neither will a Palestinian state). The issue is political Islamist imperialism.

Global affairs analyst, Micah Halpern, of The Micah Report, author of the book, "Thugs," expresses how America's foreign affairs will suffer as a result of the naivete of such a rookie president-elect.

I'm Predicting:

For an idea of what future terrorist attacks will look like, look no further than last night's horrific terror attack in India.

Islamic terrorists like multiple, simultaneous, coordinated, attacks against Western targets especially when target is civilian.

All of the sites of yesterday's attacks are civilian sites. The terrorists and their handlers were trying to kill as many Westerners as possible.

The terrorists actually shouted out that they were looking for UK and America passport holders only.

Traveling abroad and having assets abroad comes with a huge responsibility. Learning to act safely so as to protect ourselves and our property when we travel is imperative.

Make no mistake about it: US citizens and US interests abroad are terrorist targets.

'Are Bush, Rice, Olmert, & Abbas dismantling Israel for Palestine as a quid-pro-quo for their own future employers?'- Judean pioneer, Elyakim HaEtzni

Attorney Elyakim HaEtzni, advocate for the preservation of Judea and Samaria (and ex-Israeli Parliamentarian), explains the existential threat that establishing a Palestinian sovereignty would create.

He calls on the world to actively oppose Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice's Olmert/Abbas formal document with the resolution of all "core issues," to be signed by Israeli and Palestinian leaders before January (a final deadline when both President Bush and Prime Minister Olmert leave office). Video-recorded August 29, 2008 at the Days of Elijah Conference in Fort Worth. Video courtesy: Battalion of Deborah via Unity Coalition for Israel.

Christians United for Israel demonstrate support in Washington; welcomed by Sen Joe Lieberman, Israel's UN Amb. Dan Gillerman

Sen. Joe Lieberman, Israel's outgoing UN Amb. Dan Gillerman join Pastor John Hagee in addressing Christians United for Israel
Christians United for Israel, (CUFI) hosted their third annual Israel/Washington, D.C. Summit this week, which proved to be the largest and most successful CUFI summit yet, with over 5,000 supporters rallying together to voice their Biblical support of Israel and share their views with members of Congress. The conference was an enormous success, capping a year of exceptional growth and demonstrating CUFI's rapid rise to become what many are calling the leading Christian grassroots organization in America.

The main event of the conference, the annual "Night to Honor Israel" banquet, featured Senator Joseph Lieberman, Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations: Dan Gillerman and Pastor John Hagee. Hagee welcomed the over 5,000 supporters and emphasized the increased strength of Christians United for Israel. Hagee also acknowledged the attendance of Catholic League leader, Bill Donohue, who received a warm welcome from participants.

Perhaps the most anticipated speaker of the evening was Senator Lieberman, who addressed CUFI members and reiterated his support for Israel and Hagee’s work with CUFI.

Watch DemoCast's on-scene video of Amb. Gillerman, Pastor Hagee, and Sen Lieberman's speeches.

The summit also offered a variety of Middle East seminars and intelligence briefings, featuring influential speakers such as Gary Bauer, Congressmen Elliot Engel and Mike Pence, and William Kristol of The Weekly Standard. The CUFI summit culminated with a true show of democracy when thousands of attendees met with their elected officials in order to affirm their support for Israel.

Ron Kampeas has more on JTA in "Hagee, backed by Lieberman, strikes defiant note at D.C. parley."
Lieberman described an amendment he sponsored last year declaring Iran's Revolutionary Guard a terrorist group as a "no-brainer" that drew the votes of 76 senators. U.S. Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.), the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, opposed the amendment.

Lieberman, whose approval rate in Connecticut and among Jews is plummeting, clearly enjoyed the moment. He loved CUFI, he said, because "I can go back to scripture more than with many other groups -- frankly, including many Jewish groups."
